Kiev forces have lost at least four American-made M2A2 Bradley ODS-SA infantry fighting vehicles (IFV) during recent battles with the Russian military in the Donetsk direction.
Videos showing the vehicles being damaged or destroyed were posted to social networks between July 28 and August 3. Two of the vehicles were hit by Lancet loitering munition, one was struck with an FPV suicide drone and another was decimated with Kornet anti-tank guided missiles.
The four vehicles were all targeted to the northwest of the town of Avdeevka, where the Russian military has been advancing for the last few days.
Since last year, the United States has delivered around 300 Bradley IFVs in addition to four M7 Bradley Fire Support Vehicles to Kiev forces. Around half of these vehicles have already been damaged, destroyed or captured by the Russian military.
Kiev forces first used its Bradley IFVs in combat during the failed spring counteroffensive of last year. The vehicle performed very poorly at the time.
The U.S. later upgraded Ukrainian Bradleys with add-on explosive reactive armor. However, the IFVs continued to be defeated by the same Russian weapons.
