Kiev forces have sustained more losses in manpower and equipment while attempting to advance in several directions, according to the August 19 briefing of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian Zapad Group of Forces repelled four attacks and counter-attacks by Ukraine’s 14th, 32nd, 44th mechanized and 95th Air Assault brigades near Novosyolovskoye, Sinkovka and Urochishche Mankovka.

Up to 400 Ukrainian troops were killed or wounded in this direction, the ministry said, adding that 14 armored fighting vehicles, two motor vehicles and a D-20 towed howitzer were destroyed.

In the South Donetsk direction, the Russian Vostok Group of Forces repelled an attack by Kiev forces close to Urozhaynoye. The group also neutralized four sabotage and reconnaissance groups close to Staromayorskoye and Priyutnoye.

And in the Krasny Liman direction, the Russian Tsentr Group of Forces repelled an attack by the 42nd Mechanised Brigade of Kiev forces to the south of Kuzmino. Over 40 Ukrainian troops, two armored fighting vehicles and one D-20 towed howitzer were destroyed there, according to the ministry.

The Russian MoD also provided the following details:

A forward command post of the 10th Army Corps was destroyed near Orekhov (Zaporozhye region).

An AFU’s ammunition depot was annihilated close to Goloskov (Khmelnitsky region).

Air defense facilities have shot down 23 unmanned aerial vehicles near Berestovoye (Kharkov region), Kremennaya, Zolotaryovka, Svatovo, Privolye (Lugansk People’s Republic), Staromikhailovka, Spornoye (Donetsk People’s Republic), Energodar and Shevchenko (Zaporozhye region).

In total, 461 airplanes and 246 helicopters, 5,854 unmanned aerial vehicles, 431 air defense missile systems, 11,387 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,144 combat vehicles equipped with MRLS, 5,940 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 12,319 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation.

In addition, Russian news sources shared videos showing recent strikes with Lancet loitering munitions and artillery that destroyed a number of Ukrainian tanks, howitzers, infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers.

Nearly eleven weeks into their counteroffensive, Kiev forces are still bogged down kilometers away from the Russian military’s first line of defense. Despite the heavy losses, Kiev’s backers in the West, who provided more than 200 billions in military aid, want the counteroffensive to continue.
