Kiev forces have sustained heavy losses while attempting to advance in several directions, according to the October 5 briefing of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

In the Donetsk direction, the Russian Yug Group of Forces repelled two attacks near Krasnogorovka and Pervomayskoye. The group also targeted gatherings of manpower and equipment close to Novomikhailovka.

Up to 210 Ukrainian troops were killed or wounded, the ministry said, adding that four armored fighting vehicles and six motor vehicles were also destroyed. Moreover, one American.-made M777 towed, one Akatsiya self-propelled howitzer and one D-20 towed howitzer were hit by counter-battery fire.

In the Zaporozhye direction, Russian strikes hit several gatherings of manpower and equipment of the 65th Mechanized Brigade near Rabotino.

More than 35 Ukrainian troops, two armored fighting vehicles and three motor vehicles were eliminated in this direction, according to the ministry. In addition, counter-battery fire destroyed two French-made Caesar self-propelled howitzers, one American-made M777 towed howitzer, one Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer, two D-30 towed howitzers and one Msta-B towed howitzer.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian Zapad Group of Forces targeted gatherings from the 25th Air Assault, 14th and 115th mechanized brigades near Novoselovskoye, Timkovka and Sinkovka.

The ministry said that Ukrainian losses in this direction amounted to 170 troops, four pickup trucks, two American-made M109 self-propelled howitzers and one D-30 towed howitzer.

In the Krasny Liman direction, the Russian Tsentr Group of Forces repelled two attacks by Ukraine’s 63rd and 67th mechanized brigades near Chervonaya Dibrova. In addition, the group launched strikes against gatherings of manpower and equipment close to Kuzmino, Torskoye and Grigorovka.

During the fighting in this direction, Kiev forces lost 80 troops, two armored fighting vehicles, two pickup trucks and one D-30 towed howitzer, according to the ministry.

In the South Donetsk direction, the Russian Vostok Group of Forces targeted the 58th and 72nd mechanized brigades near Urozhaynoye, Nikolskoye and Novomikhailovka. The group also repelled an attack by the 128th Territorial Defence Brigade close to Priyutnoye.

Ukrainian losses in this direction amounted to 80 troops, two motor vehicles and one Pion self-propelled howitzer, the ministry said.

Meanwhile in the Kherson direction, up to 45 troops were neutralized by Russian military fire. Two motor vehicles were also destroyed.

The Russian MoD also provided the following details during its briefing:

Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles, and Missile Troops and Artillery of the Russian Groups of Forces have engaged AFU manpower and hardware in 107 areas during the day.

One AFU ammunition depot was wiped out close to Bogdanovka (Kirovograd region).

Air defense systems have intercepted one JDAM guided bomb and eight U.S.-made HIMARS MLRS projectiles during the day.

In addition, 27 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles have been destroyed near Kremenets, Berestovoye (Donetsk People’s Republic), Novaya Zburyevka, Proletarka (Kherson region), Pologi, Mirnoye (Zaporozhye region), Tavolzhanka (Kharkov region), and Svatovo (Lugansk People’s Republic).

In total, 484 airplanes and 250 helicopters, 7,518 unmanned aerial vehicles, 440 air defense missile systems, 12,334 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,160 combat vehicles equipped with MLRS, 6,658 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 13,809 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation.

In addition, Russian news sources shared videos showing recent strikes with Lancet loitering munitions against Kiev forces. The strikes destroyed several pieces of military equipment, including one Buk-M1 air defense system, one American-made Stryker armored fighting vehicle and one Polish-made Krab self-propelled howitzer.

Ukraine launched its counteroffensive more than four months ago. Despite sustaining heavy losses, Kiev forces are yet to break through Russian defenses in any direction. As winter nears, the counteroffensive appears to be deemed to fail. This would be a major blow to the Kiev regime and its Western backers.

that’s what russian reality distortion propaganda wants you to beieve. only the cognitively impaired will believe it. do you really think russian soldiers aren’t dying? they are, sadly. and nobody wants to attack precisely bc of that.

victoria nuland’s husband is seething, he writes:

▪️on october 4, russian airborne units (vdv) managed to push back ukrainian troops about 2 km in the verbovoy area.

if ukraine had managed to advance 2km in any direction this would be on western propaganda channels for 6 months 🤣🤣🤣
