Kiev Forces Launch More Futile Attacks (Videos)

Kiev forces attempted to advance in several directions, but were stopped and targeted by the Russian military, according to the October 15 briefing by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian Zapad Group of Forces repelled six attacks by Ukraine’s 68th jaeger, 14th mechanized and 95th air assault brigades close to Novoegorovka, Sinkovka and Makeyevka.

The group’s attack helicopters also carried out strikes against gatherings of manpower and equipment from the 14th and 32nd mechanized brigades near Sinkovka and Ivanovka.

Moreover, a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was targeted by the group near Olshana.

According to the ministry, Ukrainian losses in this direction amounted to 50 troops, one tank, two armored fighting vehicles, two pickup trucks and one Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer.

In the Krasny Liman direction, the Russian Tsentr Group of Forces repelled three attacks by the 12th Azov Special Forces Brigade and the 63rd Mechanised Brigade of Kiev forces near Chervonaya Dibrova and in the Serebryanskoye forestry.

Several Ukrainian gatherings of manpower and equipment near Torskoye, Grigorovka and Chervonaya Dibrova were also targeted by the group.

Up to 180 Ukrainian troops were killed or wounded in this direction, the ministry said, adding that three armored fighting vehicles and two pickup trucks were also destroyed during the fighting.

In the Donetsk direction, the Russian Yug Group of Forces repelled five attacks by Ukraine’s 56th Mechanised Brigade and the 127th Territorial Defence Brigade near Orekhovo-Vasilyevka, Dubovo-Vasilyevka and Kleshcheyevka.

The group also targeted several gatherings of manpower and equipment from the 93rd Mechanised Brigade and the 112th Territorial Defence Brigade as well as from the 3rd and 5th assault brigades near Andreevka and Kleshcheyevka.

In addition, ammunition depots of the 28th, 31st mechanized brigades and the 116th Territorial Defence Brigade were destroyed close to Dyleyevka, Zhelannoye and Tonenkoye.

Up to 410 Ukrainian troops were killed or wounded, according to the ministry. Two armored fighting vehicles and three motor vehicles were also destroyed. Moreover, one Akatsiya self-propelled howitzer as well as three Msta-B howitzer, D-20 and D-30 towed howitzers were hit by counter-battery fire.

In the South Donetsk direction, the Russian Vostok Group of Forces repelled an attack by the 128th Territorial Defence Brigade close to Staromayorskoye.

Gatherings of manpower and equipment from the AFU 79th air assault, 72nd mechanized, 127th and 128th territorial defense brigades were also targeted by the group near Novomikhailovka, Ugledar, Vodyanoye, Staromayorskoye, Urozhaynoye and Priyutnoye.

Up to 155 Ukrainian troops, two armored fighting vehicles and three motor vehicles were neutralized during the fighting in this direction, the ministry said.

In the Zaporozhye direction, an attack by the 71st Jaeger Brigade was repelled by Russian forces close to Verbovoye. Moreover, air and artillery fire struck gatherings from the 65th Mechanised Brigade close to Rabotino.

The ministry said that 55 Ukrainian troops, two armored fighting vehicles, three motor vehicles, one American-made M777 towed howitzer and one D-30 towed howitzer were destroyed in this direction.

One ammunition depot of the 102nd Territorial Defence Brigade was also targeted and destroyed in the outskirts of Malinovka.

Meanwhile in the Kherson direction, two Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups were targeted by Russian forces on Alyoshkinsky Island. Up to 20 Ukrainian troops and two motor vehicles were neutralized there.

The Russian MoD also provided the following details during its briefing:

Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles, and Missile Troops and Artillery of the Russian Groups of Forces have engaged AFU manpower and hardware in 133 areas during the day.

One communication center of the Ukrainian Air Force has been destroyed at the Dnepr airfield (Dnepropetrovsk region).

One command post of the AFU 66th Mechanised Brigade was destroyed close to Podliman (Kharkov region).

Russian air defense forces have intercepted three U.S.-manufactured HIMARS MLRS projectiles during the day.

Moreover, 67 unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down near Verkhnekamenka (Lugansk People’s Republic), Berestovoye, Belogorovka, Maryinka, Vasilevka, Elenovka (Donetsk People’s Republic), Kamenskoye, Chervonogorka, Mirnoye (Zaporozhye region), and Sagi (Kherson region).

In total, 488 airplanes and 250 helicopters, 7,888 unmanned aerial vehicles, 441 air defense missile systems, 12,640 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,163 combat vehicles equipped with MLRS, 6,771 field artillery guns and mortars, as well as 14,297 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation.

In addition, Russian news sources shared videos showing recent strikes with Lancet loitering munitions. The strikes damaged or destroyed four self-propelled howitzers, one American-made M019, two French-made CAESAR and one Gvozdika, as well as one Czechoslovakian-made RM-70 multiple rocket launcher.

The Ukrainian counteroffensive, which began more than four months ago, will likely come to a halt within a few weeks as weather conditions are worsening. Kiev forces are yet to make any meaningful gains in any direction despite sustaining heavy losses in manpower and equipment.
