Kiev Forces Receive More Defeats In Kursk (Videos)

The Russian military’s Sever Group of Forces defeated several Ukrainian formations in the Kursk direction after inflicting heavy losses on them, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

In its October 4 briefing, the ministry said that Ukraine’s 22nd, 41st 115th mechanized brigades, 17th Tank Brigade, 95th Air Assault Brigade of the AFU, 1st National Guard Brigade and 36th Marine Brigade as well as the 103rd and 129th territorial defense brigades took losses close to the settlements of Daryino, Lyubimovka, Novy Put, Pokrovsky and Plekhovo.

The Sever Group of forces also repelled two counter-attacks by Kiev forces near the settlements of Lyubimovka, Olgovka and Plekhovo, according to the ministry, which said that some 30 Ukrainian troops were killed or wounded.

In addition, the ministry announced that five Ukrainian attempts to break through the Russian border near the settlement of Novy Put were foiled.

“The enemy sustained losses of more than 30 troops killed and wounded, one armored fighting vehicle and two motor vehicles,” it said.

Russian air and artillery strikes also struck gatherings of the 22nd, 41st, 61st, 115th mechanized brigades, 17th Tank Brigade, 80th and 95th air assault brigades, 1st National Guard Brigade and 36th Marine Brigade as well as the 103rd, 112th, 116th and 129th territorial defense brigades, per to the ministry.

The gatherings were targeted close to the settelements of Bogdanovka, Bondarevka, Daryino, Kositsa, Kolmakov, Knyazhy Pervy, Loknya, Lyubimovka, Lebedevka, Martynovka, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Novoivanovka, Novy Put, Orlovka, Plekhovo, Pokrovsky, Pravda, Russkoye Porechnoye, Sverdlikovo and Cherkasskoye Porechnoye.

The ministry said that other strikes hit the Ukrainian region of Sumy, which borders Kursk, targeting the reserves of the 21st, 41st, 47th, 115th mechanized brigades, 1st National Guard Brigade, 82nd, 95th air assault brigades and 1st National Guard Brigade as well as the 101st, 103rd, 106th and 129th territorial defense brigades near the settelments of Belovody, Bondarevshchina, Belaya Beryoza, Belokopytovo, Zhurovka, Katerinovka, Kislaya Dubina, Loknya, Miropolye, Mirlogi, Nikolayevka, Pavlovka, Petrovskoye, Obody, Pavlovka, Sukhodol, Sumy, Khoten and Yunakovka.

“Over the past 24 hours, the AFU [Armed Forces of Ukraine] losses amounted to more than 350 troops, six armored fighting vehicles, as well as three artillery guns, including one French-made Caesar self-propelled artillery system, one American-made M777 towed howitzer, three motor vehicles, three electronic warfare stations, and one counter obstacle vehicle,” the ministry detailed in its briefing.

Russian media released videos showing a failed ground offensive by Kiev forces and recent strikes on Ukrainian equipment in the direction of Kursk.

Kiev forces launched a surprise attack from Sumy into Kursk in August with support from their backers in NATO. The Russian military has already launched a counter-attack and liberated more than a dozen settlements in the region.

According to the Russian MoD, since the start of the battle in Kursk Kiev forces have lost 20,200 troops, 135 tanks, 66 infantry fighting vehicles, 98 armored personnel carriers, 870 armored fighting vehicles, 580 motor vehicles, 165 artillery guns, 33 launchers, including eight American-made HIMARS and six MLRS systems, nine air defense systems, five transport-loading vehicles, 43 electronic warfare stations, nine counter-battery radars, three aerial radars, 20 engineering vehicles, including 12 counter obstacle vehicles, one UR-77 mine clearing vehicle and two armored recovery vehicle.
