Kiev forces have been spotted using the American-made M58 Mine Clearing Line Charge (MICLIC) for the first time since the start of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine.
On April 1, video footage surfaced online showing Ukrainian troops using the rocket-projected explosive line charge on an unspecified front.
The MICLIC consists of an M353 or M200A1 utility chassis trailer, a launcher, an M147 firing kit, an M58A3 line charge, and a 127 mm MK22 Mod 4 rocket. The line charge is 107 meters long and contains 2.27 kg per 30 cm of C-4 explosive. When detonated, it provides a lane 8 meters by 100 meters
The system is used to provide a close-in demining capability for maneuver forces. It is especially effective against conventionally fuzed land mines.
In the video, the mine clearing system was towed by an International M1224 MaxxPro MRAP [Mine Resistant Ambush Protected] vehicle.
The U.S. pledged to supply Ukraine with “mine clearing equipment” in September of last year. In November, the MICLIC made its first appearance with Kiev forces.
Kiev forces are currently preparing to launch a large-scale offensive against the Russian military. The MICLIC and other mine clearing systems will likely be used to breach defensive lines. These systems will be priority targets for Russian troops.

Ukraine talks a big game, which means there won’t be an “counter offensive”. They have nothing left which to fight with. When you see video after video, of people being a hauled away to fight on the front line, you know they are fooked. Ukraine won’t be able to stop Russia from reaching the Dnieper river.
I agree. If there is an offensive the bulk of the soldiers won’t be Ukrainian. The last offensive had thousands of Polish and non Ukrainian soldiers involved. This one would pretty much just be NAZO troops with Ukrainian flags. Hence all the talk of them sending F-16s and Leopard and M1 tanks. Is NAZO quickly training and sending these weapons to Ukraine this late in the conflict or are they preparing for direct involvement?
