Kiev forces have sustained heavy losses while attempting to advance in different directions over the past week, according to a summary released by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The ministry said that the Russian military carried out between October 7 and 13 eight group strikes with Iskander-M tactical ballistic missiles and suicide drones.

The missile and drone strikes targeted a warehouse for missile and artillery, workshops for weapons and military equipment as well as accommodation points for Ukrainian troops, nationalists and foreign mercenaries.

“As a result of the strikes, storage facilities for American-made Willard motor boats, one field artillery depot of Kherson combined force grouping of the AFU [Armed Forces of Ukraine], one hardware depot at the Dunaysudoservice ship repair plant close to Ilichevsk -Odessa region- as well as a fuel and lubricants storage base at the Uman airfield -Cherkassk region- were destroyed,” the ministry said.

The ministry also provided details about the combat situation in different directions within the special military operation zone over the past week.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian Zapad Group of Forces advanced and captured more favorable positions, according to the ministry, which noted that 46 Ukrainian attacks were repelled close to Ivanovka, Sinkovka and Makeevka.

The group also targeted gatherings of manpower and equipment from the 25th airborne, 14th and 92nd mechanized brigades close to Sinkovka, Timkovka and Novoselovskoye.

“Enemy losses were more than 830 troops killed and wounded, three tanks, four armored fighting vehicles, 19 motor vehicles, and 17 artillery guns,” the ministry said. “Two missile artillery ammunition depots of foreign mercenaries and the 1st Special Operations Brigade were destroyed near Volchansk and Ogurtsovo.”

In the Krasny Liman direction, Ukraine’s 5th national guard, 63rd and 67th mechanized brigades made unsuccessful attempts to regain lost positions near Chervonaya Dibrova and Yampolovka.

According to the ministry, the Russian Tsentr Group of Forces repelled 22 Ukrainian attacks in this direction over the past week.

“Enemy losses were more than 895 troops, four tanks, 11 armored fighting vehicles, 19 guns and one Czech-made Vampire multiple rocket launcher,” the ministry said.

In the Donetsk direction, the Russian Yug Group of Forces repelled 17 attacks by Kiev forces close to Vasilyevka and Vodyanoye.

Up to 1580 Ukrainian troops were killed or wounded during the fighting in this direction over the past week, the ministry said, adding that four tanks, 30 armored fighting vehicles, 22 motor vehicles, 14 field artillery guns and one Grad multiple rocket launchers were destroyed.

Moreover, two Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups and five field ammunition depots were eliminated by the group.

In the South Donetsk direction, Russian forces improved their situation along the front line and repelled eight Ukrainian attacks, according to the ministry. Three sabotage and reconnaissance groups were also neutralized.

Up to 1285 Ukrainian troops were killed or wounded in this direction over the past week. Ten armored fighting vehicles, 22 motor vehicles, 14 field artillery guns and one Grad multiple rocket launcher were also destroyed.

In the Zaporozhye direction, four attacks by Ukraine’s 65th mechanized and 71st jaeger brigades were repelled by Russian forces near Verbovoye and Rabotino.

“Enemy losses were more than 385 troops, three tanks, nine armored fighting vehicles, 14 motor vehicles and 14 field artillery guns,” the ministry said.

Meanwhile in the Kherson direction, Kiev forces made unsuccessful attempts to capture bridgeheads on islands and the left bank of the Dnepr.

“Over the week, more than 325 troops, nine field artillery guns, one Grad multiple rocket launcher, and 53 motor vehicles were eliminated,” the ministry said, adding that “three ammunition depots and two sabotage and reconnaissance groups were eliminated on Alyoshkinsky and Pereyaslavskyi islands.”

In addition, the ministry said that Russian Aerospace Forces shot down one Su-25 ground-attack aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force close to Preobrazhenka in the Zaporozhye region.

Air and artillery strikes also destroyed one Su-25 ground-attack aircraft at Dolgintsevo airfield in the Dnepropetrovsk region, one Tochka-U missile system launcher near Peresechnoye in the Kharkov region, one S-300 air defense system close to Nikolayev as well as two ST-68U radar stations near Malovarvarovka in the Nikolayevsk region, according to the ministry.

Moreover, bomb depots were destroyed near Dubievka in the Cherkassk region and Priluki in the Chernigov region as well as fuel depots at airfields Ozernoye near Zhitomyr and Mirgorod in the Poltava region.

The ministry said that the aviation of the Russian Black Sea Fleet also destroyed one Ukrainian naval suicide drone in the Black Sea waters.

Meanwhile, Russian air defense intercepted 19 HIMARS, Olkha, and Uragan projectiles, seven JDAM aerial guided bombs, 12 HARM anti-radiation missiles as well as two Neptune anti-ship missiles. Up to 218 Ukrainian drones were also shot down.

“In total, 488 airplanes and 250 helicopters, 7,790 unmanned aerial vehicles, 441 air defense missile systems, 12,546 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,163 combat vehicles equipped with MLRS, 6,753 field artillery guns and mortars, as well as 14,143 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation,” the ministry concluded.

In addition to the information provided by the ministry, lostarmour.info, a website that tracks military losses, documented 12 strikes with Lancet loitering munitions and 115 strikes with FPV suicide drones against Kiev forces between October 7 and 13.

Despite sustaining heavy losses for more than four months, Kiev forces are yet to break through Russian defenses in any direction. The Ukrainian counteroffensive appears to be dead in the water. Worsening weather conditions will likely bring the counteroffensive to complete halt by the coming winter.
