The Russian Army has been using the 1RL257 Krasukha-4 ground-based electronic warfare system at the Hmeymim airbase already for one year.

About a year ago, media reported that the Russian Armed Forces deployed the 1RL257 Krasukha-4 ground-based electronic warfare system at the Hmeymim airbase. During 12 months of the Russian operation in the Middle East, there were many different events, but all this time, the electronic warfare system served as a shield for Russian troops.

Reportedly, the Krasukha-4 is currently protecting the Hmeymim airbase from various spy planes, including US aircrafts, flying over the Mediterranean Sea. The Russian system is also preventing the work of reconnaissance satellites. If it is needed, it is also capable to suppress radars of sighting system of fighter jets.

The Krasukha-4 is mounted on a chassis of the KAMAZ-6350 four-axle heavy truck. The limit of the work in azimuth is 360 degrees; the limit of the work in angle of site is from -1 to +85 degrees.

The electronic warfare system has the following traffic handling capacity: one radar system of a satellite vehicle and one Northrop Grumman E-8 Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (E-8 JSTARS) or eleven radar systems of tactical reconnaissance aircraft.

The radius of the zone of coverage during suppression of radar systems of tactical reconnaissance aircraft is 11-19 km, of target-acquisition and fire-control systems – 16-41 km, of satellite vehicles – 15-25 km. The deployment time is up to 20 minutes.

Informational Warfare and Electronic Warfare is not only the dominant way to win and loose now days. It is the future! Anti-Zionist media outlets need to work closer together to combat the owners of the establishment-media. The Zionist own MGM BBC ABC MSNBC FOX PARAMOUNT WB DISNEY and a bunch of others. Russia should help Iran and Lebanon and Syria and Yemen and Libya and Serbia and Greece and Spain and Ireland become self reliant experts in the field of resisting Zionist-Media and Zionist-electronic warfare. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/ee0374950bf2b08f75f70d9ca2ff81c7e949b10e8979fcd8d7075fecebac967e.jpg https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/ef5bf8ad7da6e261ad590d5e8d73eb388cad31e98a3811c6248e3110dd8a8563.png https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/f5fbfd1d3c15d0bd256c93624e564d588b324e97f1665e9e79a14bd152f6c0da.jpg https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/f3ca8bc3d87f3a1bd8cfbfe33b3155202dab38ef6e06ed53933e1a4addeb1d5f.jpg

As radar systems are the first thing the Americans will take out to achieve “air superiority” , I hope there are a few of them quietly tucked away , to be deployed when the originals get wiped out .

Well in Serbia during the 1999 Operation Allied Force NATO wiped out a lot of ~$100.00 microwave owens using costly HARM missiles. Microwave ovens are even cheaper these days. Sometimes smart weapons are not that smart.

John Whitehot

guess that in order for that to work you need an amplifier and a transmitter antenna. Otherwise, it’s very hard for a HARM missile to pick up that signal, unless you put its receiver inside the open owen door.

Viktor Amruš

That story is complete bullshit. One of the usual Serbian lies and myths. Microwave owen works at 2,4GHz (same as the wi-fi) and emits continous wave, roughly 600 to 900 watts.

How stupid is to claim that latest EW equipment would mistaken that for SA-6 (Kub) having 1S91 radar operating at 4-8 GHz (G/H band) and having 600 KILOWATT peak power with 0.5 microsecond pulse?! Acquisiton radar has 270kW, engagement radar 180kW.

How stupid one has to be to believe the most sophisticated EW systems can’t distinguish two to four times higher frequency and at least TWO HUNDRED times higher output?!

The receiver employs Crystal Video Receiver (CVR) and Superheterodyne techniques, subject to frequency band. Reports indicate that the receiver processor is capable of sorting threat pulse trains in high density environments, from the C through to the J bands (0.5-20 GHz). http://www.ausairpower.net/API-AGM-88-HARM.html

What this has to do with any of what I wrote? What, you can’t comprehend the difference between 1 kw continous wave and 600kw pulse?

I’m certain that the Russians have looked at both U.S. operations in Libya and Iraq as well as the Arab Israeli wars in how the air defenses were taken out and have a layered defense. 1. These systems can be shut off making them non-targetable by HARM missiles. 2. The Russians have systems like the Pantsir that can intercept HARM missiles.
