The Afrin Liberation Forces (ALF) announced that its fighters carried out a series of attacks against Turkish-backed militants in northern Aleppo between December 8 and 11.
“Our forces have carried out a series of sabotage operations in the Afrin and Azaz region,” an official statement by the group reads.
The attacks took place in the villages of Maydanke and Gemruke in the Shera district and in the villages of Berade and Kefer Nabo in the Sherawa district in southern Afrin, as well as in the vicinity of the city of Azaz.
According to the ALF, eleven militants of the Hamza Division, the Sultan Murad Division, the al-Fatah Brigade and the Sham Legion were killed in the attacks.
The four groups are all members of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA). The SNA took part in the Turkish attack on Kurdish forces in northeast Syria, which was launched last October.
In the last few weeks, dozens of Turkish-backed militants in northern Aleppo were killed or injured by ALF fighters. The Kurdish guerilla group is becoming more and more capable in that region.
