Russian forces are preparing to enter the town of Tell Tamr in the northern al-Hasakah countryside amid heavy clashes between Turkish-backed militants and Kurdish forces, the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on November 16.
According to local Kurdish sources, the Russian Military Police may establish a post inside the Christian town, which is witnessing repeated attacks by Turkish forces.
The Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) has been attempting to capture the town for several weeks, now. The repeated attacks forced most of the locals to flee the town.
The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a counter-attack in Tell Tamr countryside, a day ago. The villages of al-Manakha, l-Dawdiyah, al-Aziziyah and large parts of al-Arisha were recaptured.
The establishment of a Russian post in Tell Tamr could put an end to the SNA attacks on the town and facilitate the return of the locals.
The Russians must deploy there to protect my Christian cousins..
You beat me to it.
the kurds best deal is to scrap the yanks and make a deal with syria (and turkey) – there is no way the yanks or israel can keep the kurdish attempt to independence going, particularly since trump is looking for a quick fix way to leave syria behind.
