Al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) announced on May 18 that the “largest batch ever” of its special forces, dubbed the “Red Bands,” has completed its training.

The terrorist group held a graduation ceremony for the new special forces personnel, who were trained to carry out raids, Inghimasi [suicide] attacks and sabotage operations. The ceremony was attended by the group’s top military leader.

Furthermore, HTS announced on March 20 that some of its regular units have completed a “military enhancement” training course.

The terrorist group released photos of the training course, which involved live fire drills. One of the photos shows the terrorists training with a Turkish-supplied M113 armored personnel carrier (APC).

It is no secret that HTS has been taking advantage of the new ceasefire in Greater Idlib, brokered by Russia and Turkey on March 5, to rebuild its military capabilities.

Last March, HTS launched a large recruitment campaign to revive its depleted special forces and Inghimasi force. The group also stepped up the training of new recruits and expanded its forces with three new brigades.

This military buildup is a sign that HTS is not willing to respect the March 5 agreement. In fact, the terrorist group is clearly preparing for a new military confrontation with the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies.

John Wallace

Are you sure they are HTS and not Americans ..

John Wallace

Whats the matter Jens , Lack the intellectual capacity to UNDERSTAND what I said and assume I said something else. That is the problem when you have no brain and consider yourself intellectual. Dumb joke.

occupybacon

Is this guy is replaying to himself while calling himself Jens?

John Wallace

Ah … I see now that you fail to understand that I was replying to Jens through his downvote because of his ignorance of what I was saying. Rather than reply with his normal dribble in our war of words he chose to downvote that that he failed to comprehend as payback for former downvotes from me too his mindless dribble.. The message is for Jens … Simple really … :-))

occupybacon

Thanks for taking time to open my eyes. Allways apreciate

good american

One of them looked a bit blancito.

Daily Beatings

Not fat enough to be Americans.

John Wallace

In no way did I think they were Americans , fat or otherwise..I was referring to the helmets and body armor which are totally out of place and resemble American supplied . Even SDF didn’t use either and Allah was normally protection enough for HTS and others simarly minded..

Cromwell

Probably the Americans doing the training, how long is this nonsense going on for?

King Cliff

How come this camps are not being targeted?

Toni Liu

It might be in one of those refugee camp near turks border, no wonder they can be watched but hard to be attacked

Cromwell

If thats the case take the camp over.

Toni Liu

Its long way above m4, even over idlib, that need crazy amount manpower and equipment to be captured fast, with this many ceasefire, it will need 2 years to be able reach that area

Cromwell

What i don’t get is,they keep saying the Iranians are in Syria, well there are not enough, they have a large conventional armed forces, they should put a couple of hundred thousand troops in with all the heavy weapons needed to launch a massive Blitzkrieg in Idlib,it would be over in weeks with the backing of the SAA Hezbollah and Russia giving air cover.

Toni Liu

They need to mobilize from the other place like deir ezzor, south syria, eastern syria and others to do that, for now its too dangerous because we already seen some resurgense of rebelion in south syria and isis remnants problem in deir ezzor area. The area closer to turks border mostly mountain and hill area with some vegetation on it and hard soil with rock formation that perfect for build good fortification. So its too risky for doing that even with turks allow that, we already seen before how area around kobani in latakia still held by those bastards even after repeated attacks, this will put some serious drain to SAA forces to do that.

Better take one area one by one rather than taking all of them in one time, even taking m4 road surely give another nail to coffin for their freedom terror revolution. So better wait and take a precaution to move because for now its too dangerous for SAA to make such move

Concrete Mike

LOL, do these guys know what happened to the last batch of red bands? There mostly all dead!

gustavo

Everything thanks to the “intelligent” Russia-Turkey agreement which brings about large benefits to terrorists and Turkey. Congratulation Putin.

Icarus Tanović

The sooner the SAA offensive the better.

Assad must stay

wherever these rats are training needs to be bombed asap

Vitex
