Units of the Syrian Army repelled an attack by militants on their positions near At Tah in southeastern Idlib, the Russian military said in its daily report on January 22.

According to the report, the attack involved at least 30 militants with 3 vehicles equipped with weapons.

Syria’s state-media SANA reported that Hayat Tahrir al-Sham members and their allies continue to prevent civilians from leaving the militant-held part of Idlib province to safe government-controlled areas via humanitarian corridors established at the contact line in Idlib and Aleppo.

The SANA said that on January 21 no civilians exited the militant-controlled area via Abu al-Duhour, al-Habbit, and al-Hader corridors that were opened earlier in January.

HTS and allies are hiding behind civilians.

Peter Jennings

To use innocent civilians to slow down the SAA advance shows that empathy isn’t a terrorists strong point. The terrorists knew that this day was approaching. They have broken every rule in the book and continue to tell anyone who will listen that they are still a real force to be reckoned with, yet don’t seem to want a straight all out fight without innocent civilians also doing the dying, and no doubt unnerving SAA soldiers.

Innocent civilians are merely sheep to these ‘jihadists’. Theirs isn’t an ideology but a fanatical deathwish in which they obviously believe everyone should participate. An ideology without empathy is doomed. If ‘jihadists’ want peace with Allah, they should let the innocent leave the area. However, some how i feel that Allah has little to do with events in Syria.

Using civilians as a shield is also a great way to lose a war

Ok, so that’s not a large attack. There hasn’t been one for a while. The Somme was a large attack.
