Lavrov: West Persistent In Transforming Balkans Into Springboard Against Russia

The news agency TASS reports (source):

The western states do their utmost to turn the Balkan Peninsula into a springboard against Moscow, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with The Serbian Telegraph newspaper.

“After the end of the Cold War, Western countries refused to join efforts in shaping an architecture of equal and indivisible security in the Euro-Atlantic space, which Russia had been persistently urging to do,” Lavrov said. “They opted for a dead-end way of expanding their geopolitical space and of mapping new divisive lines on the European continent”.

“For example, in 1990, they bombed Yugoslavia for two and a half months, grossly violating international law, and then in an attempt to legitimize the act of aggression they recognized unilaterally Kosovo’s independence,” Lavrov stressed.

The West’s anti-Russian policy evolved into “an armed coup in Kiev in February 2014, which was staged and backed by Washington and some European countries,” he said.”As a result, Ukraine, which had had everything to become successful and prosperous, found itself drawn into a bloody feud,” the foreign minister added.

“There is an impression that the West has not learnt any lessons from the Ukrainian tragedy. Persistent attempts are currently in full swing to transform the Balkans into another springboard against Russia,” he emphasized. “Regional nations are forced to make a choice: either with Moscow, or with Washington and Brussels.”

“We are aware that Belgrade is subject to severe pressure aimed at making it wind down mutually beneficial cooperation with our country. Serbian brothers are resiliently withstanding this,” Lavrov said.

“Moscow highly appreciates Serbia’s independent, multipronged foreign policy which, I am convinced, meets your nation’s vital interests,” he said.

Давай самолеты Бачушка, Мы будем сортировать его….

It’s pretty obvious the US plans to invade Russia to steal the oil and other resources. The US does this all the time, and countries all over the world have been destroyed and pillaged by the USA. Russia should strike first.

Jens Holm

We already get all the oil and gas we need by pipelines and pay for it, so we dont do as You.

Sinbad2

But you pay Russia for the oil and gas, the USA wants you to pay the USA for the oil and gas. The reason the US took over Ukraine was so all the gas would go through American companies.

Run Forrest run.

Jens Holm

Of course we pay for the oil and gas. And You might forget, that Russians buy a lot of it before Ukrainians and we do.

If USA had taken over Ukraine, it today was a well functioning capitalistic state – or at least parts were. I dont see that at all.

You dont know what american companies are. Those are owned by stockholders and You can buy parts of the too.

In Russia the 2 biggest foreign companies are Shell and BP. Those are american ones. Hardly. They are driven by stockholders from the whole world, and You can buy parts of them too. And why ?? Because Russia suddenly can produce 3-4 times more oil from socalled empty fields of oil and gas and get taxincome i stead of zero. Western Tech do what Russia cannot themselves.

Same crap is for fx Syria. If You look at maps for oil and gas there, it says EMPTY, but thats empty for Syrians as well as partly Russians.

You simply just dont undrstand our economics and how we produce better as well as make money. Of course we have companies stealing and poluting as well. We try to keep that down.

Its only true all compete in pipelines and production and the american situated are one among many.

If You look at pipeline plans, You will see so many of them, that its like spiders all over trying to catch. Russia a few month ago has agreed with Turkey. Russia do try to manke a line in the Baltic sea. Russia try to export to China as well.

Even Saudois wish to send gas by Israel to Europe.

The most sensible thing would be to upgrade that oil and gas in plastik and like that, thats where the money is – not in the pipelines itself.

Thats how it is.

“In Russia the 2 biggest foreign companies are Shell and BP. Those are american ones.”

I stopped reading when I got to that ridiculous statement.

Jens Holm

Not, You nut.

Tommy Jensen

Dont worry, when Ukraine is sucked dry for honey we will leave it to Russia and Europe to fight about the dry crumbs…………………….LOL.

Jens Holm

I am same kind of pessimist.

The PMs of Bulgaria, Greece and Macedonia, aka the traitors are breaking their backs to bend over for the interest of some EU and USA psychopaths. So far the people of these countries are resisting the pressure and openly state that they don’t want to joint the EU or want out of it however the traitors are still pushing. The people of the Balkans are all with Russia.

Jens Holm

Bulgaria, Greece, Roumania, Slovenia nd Cyprus already are members.

And yes, some are beding, but we are bending for them too, because they would like changing away from collapsed Communist structures, and cant handle it themselves. You must live in a hard censured area telling that. I dont see many Russian friends there.

Just to let you know: I have stopped reading your comments long time ago.

Jens Holm

My comment are not meant for You, just telling facts. You not even know, which are members of EU at the Balkans.

How can You expect any to believe Your lies about friendship with Russia as well.

Sinbad2

You wouldn’t know a fact if it jumped up and bit you. But what I can’t work out is if you are genuinely intellectually challenged, or a compulsive liar?

Bruno

Those PMs are nothing more then educated puppets out of America.

Jens Holm

Lavrov is a funny man, if he is a man. None want Russia, its imcompetence amd we do have corruption here and there already.

More like we dont want it spread out again. But we do wish and want the part of EastEurope, which are able to replace the Comecon collapse with something, which can grow as affiliated to us or even more.

And Yes, we so support and kind of defend them. No more colony grabbing again. Even Russians as the only ones lost WW1 3 times, they behave as having learned nothing regarding respect from others.

I was in EastBerlin in 1968 for the first time. The Russian tourists were much worse then any American one comming here.

occupybacon

Good point. Only the countries that never bordered Russia still want to have them as friends.

mogol_gr

You must begin to say that it happens so to defend privileges not by generosity.

occupybacon

Looks like Russian politicians can’t hold their noisy Imperial Interest speech anymore
