The Lebanese Army captured Al-Nujasa hill and Dawar al-Zanar hills near Wadi Shabib between Jorud Arsal and Jorud Ras Baalbe. The Lebanese Army also captured Abu Ali and Al-Dhaleel Al-Aqraa hills in Jorud Ras Baalbek, according to the Hezbollah media wing in Syria.
The recently liberated areas are located at the southern front line with ISIS fighters in Jorud Ras Baalbek and al-Qaa area in northeastern Lebanon.
The Lebanese Army continued shelling ISIS positions and fortifications in Ras Baalbek and al-Qaa area with artillery guns and rocket launchers.
Following the successful operation, the Lebanese Army is now surrounding ISIS fighters in Jorud Ras Baalbek from the northern, western and southern sides. Meanwhile, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Hezbollah surround ISIS fighters in Western Qalamoun inside Syria from the east.
The main operation has not yet started in the area. The SAA, the Lebanese Army and Hezbollah will attack ISIS fighters in Jorud Baalbek and Western Qalamoun at the same time, according to pro-government sources.
Although several Lebanese politicians have denied the SAA and the Lebanese Army will coordinate in the coming battle against ISIS, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah has asserted that the attack will be on both sides and that there will be coordination between the SAA and the Lebanese Army, and stressed that coordination will lead to accelerate the operation and reduce the losses.
