On June 22, the Lebanese military announced in an official statement that one of its units uncovered and dismantled an Israeli spying device in Shebaa farms in southern Lebanon in coordination with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFL). The Lebanese military is currently discussing this development with the UNIFL, which is tasked with monitoring the separation line between Israel and Lebanon, according to the statement.

The Hezbollah media wing revealed that the Israeli devising was an advance communication system, but didn’t provided further info about its tasks. The system was likely planted inside Lebanon by Israeli special forces or by agents of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, that usually plant such devices in Syria and Lebanon.

Last year, the Lebanese military and Hezbollah uncovered several Israeli systems, including two electro-optical spying systems in the districts of Western Beqaa and Hasbaya. In 2013, a similar Israeli system was discovered by the Syrian intelligence in a small island off the shores of the coastal city of Tartus.

Since the beginning of the Syrian war, the Israeli intelligence has expanded its operations in Lebanon and Syria in an attempt to collect more information about Hezbollah, which is deeply involved in the war. Such spying devices are one of the main sources of information for agencies like Mossad and the Military Intelligence Directorate (Aman) of the Israeli military.

It’s like one of those cheep spy drone, but I suppose it can be dropped from a plane and monitor for any Hezbollah buildup on the border.

Sinbad2

Yeah, along with the neatly arranged rock base, those Israelis are so clever, I wonder what they use to glue the rocks together?

Israel invades Lebanon on a regular basis, and probably pays corrupt Lebanese army officers to turn a blind eye.

Remember Hezbollah was created because the US/Israel had corrupted the Lebanese army so badly, that they fought against their own people.

5commando

It was placed there by human hands.

Smaug

Going by the photo, this one was. But these CAN be dropped by planes and since the IAF has published photos of their F-35 caaually flying over Beruit…

MeMadMax

Well, some of the that thing is rusting so its probably been there for some time. And dajew is dumb: yes, leave the hebrew language labels on the thing so that there can be no doubt where it came from…

morons…

Sinbad2

Yeah, but who else is interested in subjugating Lebanon?

Hezbollah has spies INSIDE the idf. Israel has spy ‘machines’ assembled/dropped off in the Lebanese wilderness. Now whom do you think is collecting better intelligence?

Siegfried

ISRAEL: has US spy-satellites that can read the hour on your watch on the hand.

Lena Jones

Yet israel’s intelligence gathering during the 2006 war against the hezb led them to a humiliating defeat :-)

You simply cannot beat human intel.

Bill Spence

Spy satellites are no good when you use Merkova tanks again infantry with anti-tank weapons. Your eyeballs become the best intelligence so Israel lost 58 tanks.

Lena Jones

Actually israel lost 124 Merkavas to Hezbollah intel and muscle.

Bill Spence

Based on Assassinations over past 20 years it would appear that Israel has the best intelligence, even in Gaza and Iran.

How do you know where Hezbollah has spies?

Lena Jones

Rubbish argument. The CIA and the mossad employ ‘assassination’ as a PRIMARY policy – other nations don’t. You think Iran and Hezb can’t assassinate if they wanted to? LOL

Siegfried

Question: WHO and WHEN planted the system there?… What Arab sold-soul did it __ because Israelis couldn’t move there without being caught by the Hezbollah. .. Or maybe they are relics from the Israeli-buffer-zone for a decade or so..
