Lebanon’s Prime Minister Saad Hariri has temporarily suspended his resignation following a request by the country’s president Michel Amount to reconsider the decision.
“I presented my resignation to President Aoun today and he urged me to wait,” Hariri said following his meeting with Aoun in Beirut on November 22.
Earlier on the same day, Hariri attended a military parade marking Lebano’s Independence Day which brought an end to the French mandate over the country 74 years ago.
Hariri resigned announced his resignation in a televised speech from the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on November 4. His resignation was one of the series of events, which led to a dammatic escalation of the tensions in the Middle East. This escalation especially inflicted Saudi Arabia, Israel, Iran and Hezbollah/Lebanon.
