On September 27, an airstrike targeted the headquarters of one of the forces supporting the Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA) in the heart of the country’s capital, Tripoli.
Local sources said that the headquarters was sheltering the leadership of the al-Nuasi Brigade. There were no reports on causalities.
The GNA claimed that the airstrike was carried out by the air force of a foreign state backing the Libyan National Army (LNA). However, sources close to the LNA said that a warplane of the Libyan Air Force (LAF) conducted the airstrike.
With more than 700 fighters, the al-Nuasi Brigade is one of the biggest militias in the capital. The group’s leadership is known for its radical views and for its relations with Jihadi elements in Libya.
The LNA has not confirmed its responsibility for the airstrikes, so far. A day earlier, the army’s warplanes targeted the Mitiga International Airport, east of Tripoli’s city center.
Very good work LNA
