Iran needs to confiscate any nato material that is near the Persian Gulf.

nato boats should be relegated to the same distance Gazans are allowed.

disqus_WJb8VurjLQ

Iran can try if they are suicidal. New sheriff in town now.

JHK

Iran will try, and backed by Russia China and Turkey and Qatar.

Jens Holm

So what. Even I try hard, I certainly cant run 100 meter within 10 seconds.

Jens Holm

Its not allowed to wish. Iran is no owner of the Gulf.

JHK

Go to your idf groups. Russia Turkey Iran China dont gaf about you.

Freeland_Dave

Our carrier fleet is twice the size of the other fleets combined despite the liberals best efforts in our nation.

Very interesting.

This is quite an interesting distribution map.

While it also indicates offensive potential, there is also vulnerability.

Another aspect of carrier strike groups is the potential now for carrier based aircraft such as the F35 B Marine model to carry out flight operations from amphibious carriers.

I don’t know exactly how many of the amphibious carriers have F35 B aircraft, but I think they are trying to transition from Harriers to F35 B’s as fast as production and cost will allow. It does expand significant air operations potential dramatically. With aerial refueling, which should be available utilizing helicopters also on the amphibious carriers, F35 B’s could have much of the capability of the A and C models.

Japan is also likely to employ significant F35 B assets on two helicopter carriers which are hybrid destroyer helicopter carriers. These may have “blue water” capabilities, and I think Japan is rethinking it’s basic constitution as far as the Japan Defense forces are concerned. Likely their naval forces are going to be employed beyond Japan’s coastal waters. They’re also developing much longer range cruise missiles since China’s development of hypersonic anti-ship or “carrier killer” missiles is going to change the way carriers and surface ships of all types are deployed in the Western Pacific.

But you have to take into account the availability and reliability of these aircraft, which wouldn’t be a lot and would have a huge significance of how you could plan and sustain an attack.

occupybacon

am I drunk or Kuznetsov moved a millimeter?

You can call me Al

Strangely enough, that is exactly what I thought of the UK aircraft carriers (that have turned into 1) !!!!.

occupybacon

haha indeed, also I think the French one is broken on the way and Macron can’t afford to bring it home

Russia and China only build a few carriers to keep the US committed on this outdated platform. They don’t need to work really well. They just need to give the US a sense of superiority.

disqus_WJb8VurjLQ

Nonsense, the Chinese are building their third carrier now. The Russian carrier has always been a joke (any of them). Platforms can only be outdated by performance and not verbal diarrhea.

Rodger

And the US the US has 20 commissioned and has 2 (maybe 3) new ones coming along. “Ford-class carriers will eventually replace the older Nimitz ships. The second ship in class, USS John F. Kennedy, was reported by Huntington Ingalls Industries as fifty percent structurally complete as of July 2017. The third ship, USS Enterprise, began advanced construction on August 24th, 2017. Talks are underway to award the contract for the fourth unnamed ship.” Their construction costs the US a lot more than they to China. And all have operational costs (some with their own battle fleets). It’s China (and Russia a little) draining US resources because they like swinging their apparatus around. Quite smart really.

And carriers are an outdated platform because of missile and sub tech improvements.

occupybacon

Tell me what you have taken, I want it too :)

Jens Holm

Thats non sense.

Rodger

In this time of submarine drones? If it’s big and floats then it’s dead.

John Whitehot

if i were you i’d refrain from making people suspect that you could also be commenting while sober.

at least you have an excuse for the complete retardness of pearls like this one (as even the walls know the ship in question is being rehauled).

Chris Hafferty

Where is the Ford?

The US has twice the total carriers of all other nations. Think about that. They do.
