Carrier strike group (CSG) is an operational formation of the United States Navy. It is centered on an aircraft carrier and a carrier air wing of 65 to 70 aircrafts. It’s composed of roughly 7,500 personnel, an aircraft carrier, at least one cruiser, a destroyer squadron of at least two destroyers and/or frigates. A carrier strike group also, on occasion, includes submarines, attached logistics ships and a supply ship. Carrier strike groups comprise a principal element of U.S. power projection over the world’s oceans

In the future carriers can be run aground in NY and LA and used as homeless shelter however aviators will continue to fly off the decks as their service is extended indefinitely.

Those 13 billion a piece aircraft carriers are now obsolete. Both Russia and China have unstoppable hypersonic anti-ship missiles with a range of about 1,000 miles which means to launch their attack aircraft the carriers would have to come well within the hypersonics lethal range and all it takes is one hit from those missiles to sink a carrier.
At the end of WW2 became the final time for big guns battleships and the carriers took over. Right now the floating airfields are in the same place. They are useless expansive piece of shit.
