On April 4, London refused to hold a meeting of the UN Security Council on the current events in Bucha (LINK, LINK) in the Kiev region of Ukraine, according to the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova. Moscow will demand once again the convening of the UN Security Council on this matter.
On April 3, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for an independent investigation into what happened in Bucha to bring those responsible to justice, and added that he was “deeply shocked” by the images from the city.
“Yesterday, in the worst English traditions, the British presidency of the UN Security Council did not agree to hold a meeting of the Security Council on the situation in Bucha,” she wrote on Telegram.
First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyansky said that “in light of the blatant provocation of Ukrainian radicals in Bucha,” Moscow demanded to convene a meeting of the UN Security Council on April 4.
The reason why did London refuse to hold a meeting of the UN Security Council is unclear. Probably, it is afraid of the truth. If the fakes are officially revealed, London could not impose more sanctions against Russia which were already proclaimed.
Earlier, the head of the Russian National Defense Control Center, Mikhail Mezentsev, said that the Ukrainian authorities were ordering nationalist battalions to shoot staged videos about the killings of civilians by the Russian Armed Forces.
According to him, the battalions are shooting videos about “outrages and mass killings of civilians, looting and destruction of social infrastructure,” which are allegedly committed by the Russian military. This should create a negative information background around Russia’s military operation in Ukraine, Mizintsev explained.
