French President Emmanuel Macron appears to be furious over other people mentioning obvious facts that may damage his public image.

On August 26th, Macron criticized Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro over a comment on Facebook regarding French First Lady Brigitte Macron.

Macron said that Brazilian women were probably “ashamed” of their President, and he hoped that that Brazilians would get to elect a President who does not bring them shame in the near future.

“He had extremely disrespectful comments towards my wife,” Macron said, while speaking at the G7 summit in Biarritz, France.

“What can I tell you? It’s sad. It’s sad for him and for Brazilians. I think that Brazilian women are probably ashamed to read that their president has done that.”

“I think that Brazilians, a great people, are a bit ashamed of this behavior,” Macron added. “As I have a lot of friendship and respect for the Brazilian people, I hope that they will quickly have a president who is up to the job.”

What sparked Macron’s response was a “meme” posted on Bolsonaro’s Facebook page, comparing the appearance of the French First Lady with that of the Brazilian one, implying that Emmanuel Macron was “jealous.”

“Don’t humiliate the guy … haha,” read the reply from Bolsonaro’s account.

Brazilian Education Minister Abraham Weintraub also joined in the dispute, by expressing his opinion of Macron on Twitter.

“France is a country of extremes. It is the birthplace on one side of Descartes and Pasteur, and on the other hand, members of the SS division Charlemagne. But Macron is far from all of them. He’s just an opportunistic scumbag who seeks support from the French agricultural lobby,” he wrote.

The furious reaction of Macron to these comments is at least strange. The posted “meme” has no photoshoped parts and simiply shows the reality. In own turn, Macron’s reaction is an ordinary example of the current neo-liberal propaganda that seeks to denounce any facts that it does not like. If facts appear to be unpleasant for neo-liberals, they push to supress independent voices or accuse people spreading these facts of being sexists, racists, propagandists etc.

Meanwhile, Macron publicly meddled into affairs of another sovereign state at the G7 Summit. He suggested that the meeting should include in its agenda talks on the Amazon Forest fires, which according to him are a global crisis.

Macron did not even consult the leadership of Brazil and did not invite him to Biarritz.

The Brazilian president emphasized that this behavior borders on neocolonialism.

“Macron decided to use our internal problem for personal political purposes. The sensational tone with which he reported problems in the Amazon (including posting false photos) will not allow to resolve this situation,” he said on his Twitter.

In a separate post, Bolsonaro said that there was a disinformation campaign against Brazil and that the situation was not that dire.

In subsequent reports, Bolsanaru accused Macron of “inciting hatred of Brazil based on his own vanity.”

According to Bolsonaro, other countries such as Israel, USA, Spain, Chile, Ecuador not only sympathize with his country, which became a victim of the information campaign, but also offer specific support measures.

Regardless, Macron announced a $20 million emergency fund to help Amazon countries affected by the rainforest fires. He added that the wildfires were damaging the “most important lungs of the planet” and that France would provide military support. The French president admitted his country’s interest in the Amazon was partly because it has territory in the Amazon.

To that Bolsonaro replied that Macron was treating Brazil as a colony or “no man’s land.”

This spat, Amazon fires aside, is another bright example of the state of international Twitter and Facebook “politics”. Macron attempts to mimic US President Trump, but failed to do so because he forgot that he’s far from being as influential as the US leader. The French president should remember that the height of a flea cannot be measured by the height of a dog.

That’s not right to mock somebody with the looks of his or her relatives. If you have something against him, by all means attack and rip him or her a new one but don’t be a jackass and make fun of his older wife. What the Brazilian president didn’t realize is “he” in his relationship with his wife is comparable to Macrone’s wife, eg looks, age, etc. Unlike some [unspecified] country’s prime minister’s wife who threw a hissy fit at s pilot and the plane’s cockpit door and bread in host country’s airport, not for the looks of her husband, but for her own actions.

Unfortunately this is what we get these days and passes for politicians.

And getting support from the likes of US and Israel for “victimization in disinformation campaign” is only showing the world where you stand moron, it’s not positive. (Are all of Brazilian administration Jews now? Their names sound very Jewish to me)

Greetings, Garga. In general, we agree. However, it should be noted that the Brazilian President did not author the original collage. He made a slight (probably, questionable) comment on this. However, the president, not the blogger, became the main target of attacks. This fact as well as the employed rhetoric over the case are surprising.

I have found that in life ‘ All that glitters with a woman is often Fools Gold ‘ and in fairness I would think that women think exactly the same about men, and justifiably so :)

I don’t understand the need to justify a scumbag like Bolssonaro. I absolutely disagree with Macron’s policies and I believe he’s a puppet of corporations, but Bolssonaro is no different. In any case, both are children of the same whore. It is absolutely distasteful, not to say cowardly, on the part of Bolssonaro to mock a man’s wife. In other times, he would have been challenged to a duel. I wouldn’t stand anybody to offend my wife, and it is stupid to say that the post is just showing reality.
