Maduro Government Blames Sabotage, ‘US Electricity War’ For Massive Blackout

On March 7th, a blackout took place in Venezuela reportedly leaving 22 states out of 23 without electricity.

The Maduro government blamed the US for the blackout. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro claimed that the reason was “the electric war announced and directed by American imperialism.”

“The electric War announced and directed by American imperialism against our people will be defeated. Nothing and no one can beat the people of Bolivar and Chávez. Maximum unity of the Patriots!”

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo denied the allegations, saying that the US, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil or the EU wouldn’t hurt the “ordinary Venezuelans.” According to him, what’s hurting the people is the “Maduro regime’s incompetence.”

Also adding the following tweets for dramatic effect: “Maduro’s policies bring nothing but darkness,” in addition to “No food. No medicine. Now, no power. Next, no Maduro.”

Venezuelan Energy Minister Motta Dominguez said that the power outage was the result of an attack on Venezuela’s main hydroelectric power station in Guri in the southern state of Bolivar, which provides the country with about 70% of its energy.

“This is an attack (on) the government, this is an attack (on) the people and there are communities that in less than 15 minutes had already gone out to protest and close streets,” Dominguez said. “People generally wait until service is re-established. So, this verifies and confirms that this was pre-planned,” the minister added.

Venezuelan Information Minister Jorge Rodriguez blamed US Senator Marco Rubi for being behind the alleged attack on Guri.

“Jorge Rodriguez says Marco Rubio was behind the #Apagon in Venezuela.

“Marco Rubio failed again in record time pay back service in the east and in the coming hours in the rest of the country” #SinLuz”

“What’s the intention?” Rodriguez said. “To submit the Venezuelan people to various days without electricity to attack, to mistreat, so that vital areas would be without power.”

Naturally, Marco Rubio denied the allegations, saying that “this is not Dr. Evil from the movie Austin Powers,” in a Trump-esque row of “Twitter-style diplomacy.”

He also turned the entire accusation into a joke, alleging that he “pressed the wrong thing on the “electric attack” app I downloaded from Apple.”

In an interview with Fox News, Rubio also claimed that Donald Trump would not give up until Maduro is gone from Venezuela.

Rubio also alleged that Venezuela has only “days” of food and energy left, and that the Maduro government can’t keep blocking the aid indefinitely. And the incoming massive humanitarian crisis is because the government is still “so much money.”

In the same news bloc, US National Security Adviser John Bolton also once more reiterated that the US wants a peaceful transfer of power from Maduro to US-proclaimed President Juan Guaido.

Bolton also reminded his warning towards foreign financial institutions that facilitate “illegitimate transactions” that benefit the “illegitimate” Maduro government.

His warning was also repeated by US Special Representative for Venezuela Elliot Abrams who on March 7th spoke to a US Senate subcommittee hearing. He also warned of more sanctions.

“There will be more sanctions on financial institutions that are carrying out the orders of the Maduro regime.”

Furthermore, US Vice President Mike Pence announced that US State Department would revoke the visas of 77 people associated with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. These come in addition to the 49 that were revoked on March 1st.

“Today the State Department is announcing that the United States will revoke 77 visas, including many officials of the Maduro regime and their families,” Pence said in a speech to the Latino Coalition in Washington.

Meanwhile, Juan Guaido tweeted that “the light comes with the cessation of usurpation.”

Guaido also said that “This blackout is evidence of the usurper’s inefficiency,” on Twitter.

His final tweet is open to interpretation, but Guaido claimed that “We have the Guri, Tocom and Uachi. We have a central plant in Tacoa. We have water, oil and gas. But unfortunately, we have an usurper in Miraflores.”

Whether Guaido is actually giving an ultimatum and trying to “blackmail” the Venezuelan people and military to oust Maduro in return for basic commodities is open to interpretation.

black outs have been happeninig in Venezuela for a long time, even before Donald Trump dicovered where Venezuela is on the map.

Chris Chuba

Perhaps that is true but since we feel entitled to prove that failed states are evil can we dismiss this out of hand? For a nornal country yes, for an Exceptional country no.

Promitheas Apollonious

or miss it all together and point as many in australia or asia.

FlorianGeyer

Logic would say that the US had a hand in the blackout, as the US ALWAYS targets civilian infrastructure in wars.

Allan Greedspoon

He already has Australia . .

Here is the historical I’Q chart of American Presidents. https://www.snopes.com/tachyon/2016/12/president-iq.jpg?resize=600,564

IQ here signifies Idiot Quotient…so Trump has Idiot Quotient of 156. Pretty astounding, but believable. Same with all the other US president and politicians throughout history.

Tony B.

IQ doesn’t have a damned thing to do with anything as intelligence can be used with equal effectiveness for both good or evil.

Allan Greedspoon

LOL

Sinbad2

The IQ test was not developed until 1904, so how can you know the IQ of Presidents before that time.

This is just more American lies, apart from Kennedy and Carter I doubt any US president would have an IQ above 100.

Politicians are a reflection of the people they represent, Americans are stupid, so their politicians are stupid.

PS Sir Isaac Newton, supposedly the smartest man ever, has been calculated to have an IQ of 160. That calculation is based on the incredible mathematical achievements of the man. But you think some dumb arse politician is in the same league?.

Marko

Yeah , here’s your genius President showing how smart he is :

Communist are suppose to be against Nationalism and ‘Patriots’ lol. Maduro is saying “Maximum unity of the Patriots” he is desperately evoking Nationalism lol. Venezuela should be left alone. If they are starving, it is their fault. A people have the government they deserve. More of them should farm then.. About the blackout, are they that defenseless? Why cant they do for themselves? It is like they do not want to evolve or anything. They should build their own computers, own software so that way it will not be hacked. Be true Nationalist for once and do things on your own for yourselves. Venezuelans are self imposed babies. And yes, the US should but out and leave them a lone for eternity no matter what goes on in Venezuela. https://dailystormer.name/

Tony B.

These lying bastards, hungry for stolen oil, will answer to God in His time. In the meantime they need to be run out of the U.S. Every last one of them. Let them swim to Israhell, where such evil liars can feel at home.

Allan Greedspoon

They are already living in “Eretz Israel” . . the USA

Tony B.

True. But that’s because they haven’t been run out. The whole talmudic bunch.

Carol Davidek-Waller

Has Pompeo given up his job of SOS and now become Minister of Propaganda? His little duckling Rubio paddling along behind. Juan Guy-ego is Minister of tweets. Where are the grown ups?

Sinbad2

Well of course it’s the Americans, only the Americans are low enough to put the lives of children and the sick at risk, to steal another country’s resources. Being scumbags is the American dream.

Sinbad2

But you have to ask, why wasn’t the power station guarded? The US has a history of targeting power water and sewerage. I hope Venezuela has guards at its sewerage treatment plants and water sources, poisoning the water supply would be a valid target in the minds of the Americans.

Dick Von Dast'Ard

Venezuela is now in a state of war against a U.S. directed conspiracy. Needs fully declaring internationally.

Sinbad2

Well they have, but the US controls Europe it controls most of Asia, it almost controls the UN, it controls the global money supply, and it certainly controls the global media. So which countries are brave enough to call out America on its crimes? Most of the people in the west simply don’t give a fuck.

Fred Dozer

I agree, but think everything is not revealed in the media. I hope it happens like Syria. Headline news: Russians have moved troops and military equipment to Venezuela. They will defend the country from all invaders. Maybe ? or wish-full thinking.

Stephan Williams

Why hasn’t that repulsive traitor, ‘Guano’, been arrested, tried, found guilty and summarily shot yet?

Sinbad2

The Americans were hoping Guano would be arrested and or killed, they would have used it to rally support for a coup. Support for the US and their protege Guano is falling. It’s hard to keep the American public interested if there isn’t any death and destruction.

Romeo Pesiao

Illusionist..

Lazy Gamer

So, people only worry for their well being. When faced with hardships they would be willing to discard their government and be governed by another. That is what I can gather as the reason for the attack. At the same time, it is propaganda against socialism – that this is what it results to.

DustyFae

Madora has lights, so do some of the major big cities.. This is NOT USA doing that .. This is just another Madora trick… Killing people in the hospitals is just helping him rid this country of useless eaters..
