Maj. Gen. Zaid Saleh Appointed as Head of Aleppo Security Committee

Maj. Gen. Zaid Saleh

Maj. Gen. Zaid Saleh has reportedly replaced Maj. Gen. Adib Mohamad as head of Aleppo Security Committee. Maj. Gen. Zaid Saleh led the Syrian Republican Guard during Layramoun battle and was repsonsible for encirclement of Aleppo through the Layramoun-Bani Zayd axis. In other words, his actions led to takking control of the Castello Highway.

The Syrian leadership likely believes that this appoinment will help to imporve the situation in southwestern Aleppo. Meanwhile, some pro-Assad experts say that the retreat from the Ramouseh Artillery Base and the Ramouseh Neighborhood was a “strategic move” in order to entice the jihadi forces into non-inhabited areas. This will allow the Syrian government forces to use their advantage in the air power and military equipment and destroy the jihadi infantry.

The Syrian Republican Guard is an elite 25,000 man mechanized division. It’s one of the most effective formations of the Syrian government forces. Various opposition sources argue that the Syrian army has deployed up to 100 battle tanks and 400 BMP vehicles for operations in Aleppo city.

I believed from the beginning that such a move was the exact purpose of the tactical retreat from the artillery base, to draw the subhumans out of Aleppo city in to the open and decimate them there, and spare the civilians of unnecessary suffering.

Well then it was also their idea to let the rebels break the siege so that the rebels within the city get new weapons, supplies and reinforcements, right?

The air force is not very effective in the city, unless the rebels stay in the exact same place all the time. You can’t track them with drones because they just demolish walls and go from one building through the other without being noticed.

So their plan should have been to NEVER let the rebels break through and use the air force to cluster bomb and carpet bomb their positions when they were out in the open and had no place to hide for several days.Instead the RuAF was bombing in idlib when the rebels were attacking gov positions with everything they got from the open. Its mind blowing! Its like they didn’t want this war to be easier and closer to an end.

More precisely, the Iraqi air force combined with the coalition air force attacked the ISIS convoy fleeing Fallujah and completely destroyed it,yet the RuAF and SyAF could not attack the convoy approaching and consolidating near Aleppo for days????The rebels also announced what they will do on social media platforms and posted videos of their preparations. The russians had the chance to eliminate 12000 rebel fighters with no casualties, for a small cost.fast and efficient and they blew it.Someone’s head needs to roll (metaphorically),because in a real all out war this is unacceptable. Its just stupid.

Would it be worth saying that anyone who wanted to leave Eastern Aleppo could do so without being shelled, but anyone or anything trying to get in that way would be attacked? This might be the last chance the hostile ones in there have of leaving, but it could well result in much less fighting in the city and less death and destruction on both sides. My expectation is though that the fanatics do not want civilians to leave as they can use their hunger and so on for propaganda and they can hide behind civilians.

“strategic move” ? what a bullshit excuse. SAA lost huge ammo, equipments even Kornet ATM. Syrian army need a shock treatment. Assad must have excute the generals responsible to this Alleppo battle. SAA just look like south Veitnamese army in veitnam war.

enigel

Yep….the SAA is on the ropes and some heads need to roll,Even in the russian air force.By not acting they end up losing even more weapons, tanks, territory and time. The air force could have easily taken out those 12k rebel fighters out in the open. Now they just have to fight them door to door and lose countless lives.Very stupid.
