The Syrian army, supported by the Russian Aerospace Defense Forces, have been conducting military operations to liberate the militant-controlled areas of Aleppo city. Militants in the city is besieged by pro-government forces and have no chances to hold the ground if their only supply line, the Castello Highway, is not re-opened.
