Map: Militant Infighting In Eastern Ghouta

Support SouthFront

Tensions and sporadic firefights among various militant factions have been ongoing in the Eastern Ghouta region near the Syrian capital of Damascus.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) and Faylaq al-Rahman are opposing Jaish al-Islam in the region.

This situation impacts negatively the defense capabilitiees of militant groups in the area. According to some pro-government sources, the Syrian Army and its allies may launch a military operation against Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and its allies in the Jobar district located in the southwestern part of the Eastern Ghouta pocket. This became possible after the liberation of Barzeh.

This is a very nice map of E Ghouta SF. Hopefully the infighting between these Jihadist scum bags will pick up. SAA can relax and watch the show, or move east to kick ass on ISUS towards Deir Ezzor.

Orcbuu

Instal Cameras inside this districts, because of safe zone and let us watch this glorious religious idiots kill each other like in a game show, promise them 1 virgin for every other killed jihadist. This will be a new trend in syria and they get a lot of money for selling there Season 1 Episodic videos online or on pay per view tv.

MeMadMax

We’ll probably start seeing a general collapse of this pocket at anytime now, like we saw in aleppo after the SAA breached past the water pump station, and became unstoppable. The terrorists started eating each other alive there towards the end as well…

Hendrik

I’m wondering how this pockets receive supply of weapons and ammunition. I mean, some of them are isolated since years, but still fighting. And their style of fighting is wasting ammunition like hell.

Orcbuu

Well they are fighting each other, that means material is getting more and more less for them.

VGA

There is a lot of smuggling. Now that the smaller pockets got cleared and the tunnels destroyed, I guess it is harder.

Hendrik

I’m afraid that some SAA units are involved in smuggling or selling weapons to the terrorists. The SAA has a very strange command structure and is not a united army as we know it from Western armies.

VGA

Yes, the smugglers probably know at which checkpoints some NDF traitors/profiteers are.

Stephen

In Deir Ezzor there 10,000 soldiers’ lives are in alarming risk. They are besieged and have no way out. Reaching there for SAA and their allies is just one or two weeks job. Otherwise, on the massacre of SAA and allied heroes the criminal regimes of USA, UK, France, Turkey, Ezrahel, and Saudi Arabia will enjoy a grand party.

This happened before in other countries’ wars as well. Syria and their allies should protect army by their own strategy. ———————————————

East Ghouta was the 2013 Chemical attack that caused the Mediterranean stand off, it was al-Nurash Front the guilty party, I heard that from an informant of mine residing in Paradise Allah knows best what their motivations were but there also should be a formal inquiry when al-Nurash of East Ghouta put their weapons down, they should get singled out not able to depart with the more God fearing rebels.

This map looks like stinky fish !!!

Ono&Dsz

Cleaning a fish is quite simple, though it isn’t always pleasant. Cut around the tail, ensuring all skin is cut, do not cut the bone!

Xanatos

The factions fighting is not that serious. It’s the commanders that are being targeted. They will emerge stronger after they consolidate command.
