Following the liberation of Khan Shaykhun, units of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the Tiger Forces advanced on the militant-held town of Kafr Zita in the recently created northern Hama pocket.
The developments in Kafr Zita will reveal the current state of militants’ defense in the area. If the SAA and the Tiger Forces liberated the town without significant difficulties, they will likely clear from militants the entire pocket in the nearest future.

The usual head-chopper strategy now would be to reposition (= flee) to the last remaining safe area with families and/or hostages and negotiate for green buses. Then the ‘humanitarian crisis’ drama is rolled out by the MSM, bemoaning their sorry-ass conditions and demanding their safe passage.
With the limited media coming out of the area, it looks like there were few – if any – civilians left. Bad luck for the head-choppers then. If they can’t shield themselves with women and children, then they’re pretty much dead. Turks have to maintain their reason for being at the OP as ‘observers’ and I can’t see them sheltering head-choppers inside the small post. The creation of pockets has been a favorite strategy of SDF. Experience learns that most opponents leave the pocket just before it closes. One can expect the same here.
Yes, the vast majority there either got killed or fled. A couple of dozen jihadis stayed and will act as sleeper cells but I doubt they will be successful. The pocket creation strategy is extremely effective and I belive they will do it again in Idlib. The now needs to clear the entire pocket before launching another large scale operation. I hear they lack equipment and man power but the good news is that Russia has today supplied dozens of equipment and tanks that are due to arrive tomorrow.
