On January 31, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), the National Defense Forces (NDF) and the Tiger Forces liberated over a dozen villages from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) in the area of Abu al-Duhu in eastern Idlib. Pro-government sources describe this advance as a part of wider effort to reach the miltiant-held town of Saraqib. However, most likely the SAA and its allies will contribute additional efforts to liberating the southern Aleppo countryside before the push towards Saraqib.

They are taking names of towns and villages liberated only, reason why HTS is running. They captured the point that was scouted by Turkey last week and now will take the other, will Turkey choose another place that will be swiftly taken also. Kefraya and Fuo’a are about 15 km away and Saraqib 11 km hopefully they will cut of Turkish forces in aiding their proxies in these soon to be made pockets. ISIS hama pocket is being dissected also and Harasta is on the list also.

Well, it’s a small area and the HTS are running so I don’t see a pocket being formed there.

Syria needs to start re allocating men from the NDF to the SAA.
Now that most of the country is back under government control, and front lines haves been shortened and can be sealed again, it is no longer necessary to have so many NDF forces protecting local cities. These soldiers are withering under timid NDF officers who have zero initiative.
There is no point in posting maps which are supposed to show towns and villages captured and then printing the names of the towns and villages over the map. The detail of the map cannot be seen through the writing.
