This map provides a general look at the military situation in the countryside of the Syrian city of Deir Ezzor. The Syrian Arab Army and its allies have made advances inside Deir Ezzor city and librated a number of villages northwest of Mayadin city, on the western bank of the Euphrates.
The Syrian government and their allied forces are advancing nicely and steadily.
TOO SLOW.
Slow and steady wins the battle. Instead of liberating one or two villages more per day to kill their fighters is the strategy of ISIS and Al-Qaeda. ISIS and Al-Qaeda don’t care of their manpower because they will conscript more main power that is why they are losing war against Syrian nation. Whole Syrian nation is united.
People keep talking about the oil. in my opinion the river bank is ten times more valuable than any oil.
Water is life.
Smartest comment I’ve read all day.
@ Daniel Castro,
Q: Water is life.
R: Very true, but to terrorists oil is $$$ and they fully embrace death and destruction as their M.O….
The both are important. Water is life and water is food, strategically important. SAA should have enough resource do both.
I little course of economy will be good for you.
I take survival over economy any day, let’s go for a walk in the desert, you take a gallon of oil and I take my gallon of water.
That’s because there’s nothing much to say about the two major dams – Tishreen and Tabqa – claimed as war booty by the US/SDF. They have neither the expertise nor the funds to maintain the dams, so they ‘let’ the Syrian engineers back in to run them. But the US/SDF/PYD will decide who gets the limited electricity and irrigation water from those dams and how much water flows downstream.
Control of river banks *below* those two dams is not going help to power the cities or provide enough downstream flow for irrigation at the right time of the year. The dams were taken by the SDF to control the Syrians and Iraqis downstream. SDFistan plans always included denying those resources to other Syrians and establishing total control over the Euphrates, Balik and Khabur rivers. The plans for everything on the Euphrates south of Deir EzZor fell apart, but Tishreen and Tabqa are good enough.
If such is the case then Syria will have to retake those dams, through negotiations or military action if needed, even if they bomb the dams they can reconstruct them, better than let the kurds have control over the water flux, it will be way better to let the river flow, Syria can generate electricity with gas and oil for a while.
Seriously, it will be better for kurds in Syria to retreat to their tiny original cantoons, they have no claims over most of the territory they are in.
Great points. Add: release too much water at the wrong time.
Water is lost. The water tap in the US/Zionists hands. Many oil and gas fields especially the Omar oil fields are still available and they account for 80% of Syria’s oil/gas reserves. The recovery of the oil and gas for the Syrian people should be top priority. Russia is being exposed as the true culprit in the loss of the Jafra fields to the US/Zionist terror coalition. Syria should think about its own interest and that of its people. Why doesn’t Putin give 80% of Russia’s own oil and gas to the Zionists instead of bargaining Syria’s resources from the mouth of the Syrian people?
They won’t be capable of retain all water on the dams, even if syrians don’t get them back, something I really doubt, it will happen the same as in Iraq, all syrians need is make other small dams down the river to retain the water for the dry season, the river bank still has the fertile lands, still hsa the cities, oil fields are desert, also oil won’t hold it’s value forever, the river bank is where you live, you grow food, it is way more important than oil fields.
I agree but the SDF have Tabqa and they control the Damn!
While SAA advancing and clearing the packets along the river, the SAA should make plans to cross over the river. Most likely some SAA unit will have to cross over by boats and pontoons to secure East side of the river, than Russian and Syrian engineers have to setup temp bridges
SAA units that have been just free after finish clearing central Syria, should be sent to clear the desert South of the Al Sukhnah/Deir Ezzor highway from ISIS and advancing East. This will not allow ISIS to regroup and make surprise attack again on that Highway. This will also force ISIS divided resource into 2 fronts
If SDF steals Omar oil field, that is, SAA fail to get Omar oil fields, Kurds will have the power ($$$) to build a nation by themselves, and it will ask for separation of north part from Syria, that simple. The victory of Syria-Russia-Hezbolah-Iran against ISIS-Daesh will be marked by the SAA inability to get Omar oil fields.
Very well said. However it is becomng obvious that Russia made plans and agreements with the Zionists behind the Syrian state’s back to hand over Syria’s resources to the US/Zionist multinational companies.
russian already pack their equipments. for the the war has finished

The oil and gas are the most valuable resources Syria has. You cannot compare water with oil or gas when it comes to revenue for a state. There seems to be a plan behind Syria’s back by Russia to hand Syria’s precious natural resources to the US multinational companies to be looted at will to keep Syria and its people languishing in a permanent poverty state. This is unacceptable. Syria and its true friends, Iran and the Palestinians should go straight for the Omar fields NOW. Let Russia and its Zionist friends fume. Syria needs to feed its people and to rebuild its shattered economy. It cannot accept to be a beggar state indefinately wholly dependent on foreign nations crumbs when it has the resources to lift itself up by itself.
water is also important. without euphrates there is no life. without oil is no prosperity.
““At 8:15 this morning, the Israeli enemy penetrated our air space at the Lebanese border in the Baalbek area. Our air defenses fired a missile, hit a hostile jet directly and forced it to flee.” the Mod stated.
Commenting on the Israeli airstrikes over a suspected ground target, the Mod said “ At 11.38 am today, the Israeli enemy fired several missiles from inside the Golan occupied territories, which landed in one of our military posts in Damascus countryside. The losses were limited to physical damage.””

Syrian airspace is being closed to the Jew baby rapers. That’s a good thing.
If SAA wants water, it will get just water (Euphrates river), but if SAA wants Omar oil filed it will get both water and oil since to get oil it needs to get Euphrates river. Think big, not short. Syria-Russia-Iran-Hezbolah have to think BIG.
