This map provides a general look at the military situation in Iraq on October 21, 2018. Recently, Iraqi security force arrested 10 ISIS members in the city of Mosul. Two people were also killed in a carbomb attack in the city of Kirkuk. Furthermore, 10 ISIS members were eliminated in the ancient town of Hit.
Despite the formal defeat of ISIS in the country, cells of the terrorist group are still active in its central and northern part, especially near the Syrian border. The Iraqi government is actively working to restore security and put an end to the terrorist threat. However, a complicated political and social situation is one of the reasons slowing down this effort.
