On May 17, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies established full control of the Rastan pocket in northern Homs after all the militants had withdrawn or reconciled with the Syrian government under a deal reached in early May.
Currently, Syrian government forces are working to secure the liberated area, including over 60 villages located there, and are preparing for further operations against militant groups across the country.
That map every day is more beautiful than earlier.
You should download them all, put them into a animated gif and you can see the map color red before your eyes.
but isil pocket has been reduced by half in dier zor desert . but in this map its not showing
Marvellous news / image and a hell of a lot better the 6 months ago.
If you look NE to next to the Euphrates on the West bank, there is a little orange blob around an airport / airbase in Al-Tabaqah – are the Yanks here, either way, please ask the SAA to clear it out and make it red as it does my head in.
Al-Tabaqah Dam is the area you refer to. Control of water resources, Euphrates River from Al Raqqah Syria and into Iraq was the first objective of the US via Kurds/SDF into a non Kurdish area to control water and oil/gas access (plunder).
I am glad you stated that, I wasn’t sure, so thanks. For me, the damns in bot Iraq and Syria still worry me to hell.
Other possibilities: a) Try an area exchange with the red pockets in NE around Hasakah and Al-Qamishli airport. b) Try to unite these NE pockets as a source of expanding into the yellow area. c) Fight ISIS on Euphrates East bank near Hajin – perhaps SAA is able to gain this IS-stripe (because the control of waterways could be more important than oil)
It’s a beautiful thing seeing M5 clear as a bell from Daraa to Damascus, to Homs, to Hama.
BRAVO, SAA!!! We can see the results as now almost ALL of Syria west of the Euphrates River, other than the dastardly and illegal US position at Al Tanf and of course that Idlib pocket of stupidity, has now been restored to the Syrian people….
It is indeed a glorious day for true freedom for the world!
