After repelleing a militant attack near Abu Dali, government forces advanced on positions of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and its allies in the nearby area. According to pro-government sources, the Syrian Army already liberated Khuwayn al-Kabir, Ard al-Zurzur and  the Aghir hilltop.

It’s expected that the Syrian Army will develop its advance even further if militants continue to attack its positions despite the supposed ceasefire.

Rock on! This Christmas in Idlib!

“It’s expected that the Syrian Army will develop its advance even further if militants continue to attack its positions despite the supposed ceasefire”

Means the reported ceasefire Putin gave as political present to Erdogan is still valid, and this is only consolidation gains after the lastet Jihadi attack on SAA. We will have to wait till next Astana meeting to find out if there that god damned ceasefire gets extended indefinetly, or of SAA will indeed have a chance to resume their operation without again waiting a damn year.

“if militants continue to attack”

This may be the golden caveat ticket that will see the SAA’s offensive going on, as militants are CONSTANTLY attacking. So maybe, Christmas in Idlib?

I think that in their last meeting with Erdogan, Putin made it clear that the ceasefire is not valid unless the Jihadists/ militants Rebels supported by Turkey stop the war or leave, as Turkey’s role was to make a peace zone and Turkey failed. Turkey lost their deadline, so there is effectively no agreement anymore.

Putin reiterated that Nusra is out of agreements between Russia andTurkey. Any armed “opposition” forces violating demilitarisation zone are out of agreements. Also there are sorrounded Turkih “obscuration post” in Northen Hama – great bargaining chip in this situation.

Exactly! Syrian government/Russia has never had a single ceasefire with Daesh or Nusra. The ceasefires have always been there to allow the others, the so-called Free Syrian Army in particular, the chance to clear off. They never have done so, but that’s been up to them.
