Support SouthFront

After a series of unsuccessful attempts to recapture Tripoli International Airport from the Libyan National Army (LNA), forces loyal to the Governemnt of National Accord (GNA) adapted their tactics.

Pro-GNA units advanced south of the airport capturing the villages of Soq al Sabt and Sabi’ah and cutting off the road leading to the airport. With this move, they seek to isolate LNA units in the airport area and to force them to retreat. Currently, fierce clashes are ongoing in the surroundings of Soq al Sabt and Sabi’ah.

Yes overall LNA control maybe 80 % of Libyan land territory (you can ignore the remote Tebu/Toureg nominal areas along the southern borders ) including the oilfields in the Sirte and Murzuq basins. But sovreign control remains in dispute until GNA Tripoli and Misrata are defeated

GNA obviously getting sound operational instructions from their embedded foreign advizers – instead of wasting more time and assets advancing to Gharian city, they turned left at Aziziyah and thrust eastwards now threatening to cut LNA MSR to Tarhuna. LNA is yet to do likewise to the imperative Tajura-Qasr Qarabuli section of the GNA-Misrata MSR. Still early days, foreign “intervention””safe havens”etc.. on the table.

Yes, as the jihadists in Syria they likely receive satellite intel updates regularly.

Absolutely – plus live drone coverage for tactical movements. Until LNA gets inside Tripoli city, past the Second Ring Road, all LNA deployments of men and heavy weapons are watched by British, Turkish, and Qatari intelligence assets and available in real time to Sarraj GNA. The LNA lacks the element of surprise tactical and operational
