It looks like the Syrian government coalition is in a position to capture the oil fields on the east side of the river once they close the pocket on Isis on the west side of the river.

This map is false…SDF have already reach Iraqy border and captured almost all the oilfields in the area…

SF is pretty accurate most of the time. Do you have credible links from non opposition sources showing otherwise?

Γρηγόρης Μελάχρης

Yes…You can check (Syria live map) or the Wiki page (Tamplete:Syria Insergency map) !!!

The wiki map doesn’t show anything:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Syrian_and_Iraqi_insurgency_detailed_map

And the map that Syria live has shows an SDF presence in a mostly uninhabited area away from built up areas. The SDF presence there is very limited at best. The Syrian government coalition forces probably have a comparable presence there also. I doubt that the SDF can, or is, preventing forward elements of the Syrian government coalition from operating there:

But, why didn’t they do this weeks ago, from the South East side, from the boarder area controlled by the Iraqi Army? They could have crossed into Iraq, crossed the river, and then attacked back over the boarder from the South East. Obviously, there is some sort of secret agreement between Russia and the US Coalition that prevented this.

RichardD

They’re on the east bank now in multiple places. Some declared and some not. If the former SDF spokesman’s statements are true. There’s a greater Syrian government coalition presence on the east side of the river than is being publicly acknowledged.

Once they reached DE, I repeatedly was the only one here on these threads suggesting that a presence was being established on the east side also beyond the front lines. Having said that, there are man power issues involved. They required an Iranian boast to take Al-Bukamal. And I’m sure that those troops are still there helping out. It’s a war. These things take time.
