On May 24, multiple reports appeared about US and Israeli strikes on the government forces’ targets in Syria.
- Initially, the Syrian state-run media and the Hezbollah media wing in Syria claimed that the US-led coalition’s warplanes had carried out strikes on government forces near the T2 pumping station, al-Bukamal and al-Mayadin. The US-led coalition denied these reports. Later, the Russian state-run media citing some Russian military sources said that no airstrikes by the US-led coalition had hit government forces.
- Later on the same day, pro-government sources announced that Israeli airstrikes had targeted the al-Dabaa airbase in southwestern Homs. The Syrian military confirmed the strike and said that the Syrina Air Defense Forces (SADF) had repelled it. Some sources claimed that the SADF’s missiles launches were caused by a false alarm. However, this version is still unconfirmed.
