Since October 23, Syrian government forces have made a large progress against Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) in the northeastern Hama countryside. The army and its allies have liberated the villages of Abu Miyal, Jubb al-Abyad, Khirbat Rasm al-Ahmar, Abu Laffah, Mrayjeb, Hasrat, Rasm Sawan, Rasm al-Ahmar and Dush.
Some pro-government sources even speculate that the military may launch a larger advance towards the militant-held town of Abu al-Dhuhur. However, this move is unlikely if the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham defense does not collapse in the area soon.
No air support here. How were they able to break through?
why is there no air support?
Is this map really up to date? read yesterday that village of Rahjan is already flanked?
