The Syrian state news agency SANA reported that the Syrian army found a mass grave containing the bodies of 42 civilians and soldiers executed by ISIS terrorists in Palmyra.

“The Syrian army … uncovered a mass grave of officers, soldiers, members of the popular committees and their relatives,” an army source also said, adding that 24 of the victims were civilians.
On March 27, the Syrian army with the help of the Russian Aerospace Defense Forces liberated the ancient city from ISIS terrorists. Palmyra is renowned for its monument and artifacts and it was liberated almost a year after it was captured by ISIS.
An agreement was negotiated by Russia and the United States regarding a truce in the Syrian conflict. Many suggest that Washington is among the main supporters of terrorists fighting against the Syrian government forces.
Nevertheless, the Arab country is currently observing an agreement for the cessation of hostilities which entered into force on February 27. The agreement stipulates the cessation of all military hostilities in Syria, except for the operations against ISIS terrorist group and al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front militants.
