A massive explosion hit an ammunition depot at Kazakhstan’s southern town of Arys. The explosion killed at least one person and injured around 70 others.
The Kazakh Defense Ministry said that a fire erupted in the warehouse early in the morning on June 24 causing an explosion. The cause of the fire was not clear.
The region’s governor, Omirzaq Shokeev, announced a state of emergency and ordered the immediate evacuation of the town’s 45,000 residents.
