In an attempt to distract the Russian military on the southern frontlines, Ukrainian forces attempt offensive operations across the Dnieper River. The recent Ukrainian attacks resulted in heavy losses and some tactical gains, which are yet to lead to any strategic victories.
While the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have been holding a stronghold near the destroyed Antonovsky road bridge for several months, they are aimed to enlarge the bridgehead for further operations of the Russian eastern bank. The recent assault by large Ukrainian forces near the railway bridge nearby allowed the remaining Ukrainian servicemen to gain a stronghold near the settlements that are still under the Russian control. As a result, the AFU continue attacks on the Russian military in an attempt to take control of at least some villages and secure their grouping on the eastern bank.
On October 22, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that new attempts of Ukrainian assault groups to cross the Dnieper River near Pridnestrovskoe, Tyaginka and Krynki were thwarted.
The Russian Defense Ministry also reported:
In the area of the settlement of Stanislav, Kherson region, the manpower and means of transportation of the Ukrainian 123rd Territorial Defense Brigade were defeated. As a result, up to 60 Ukrainian servicemen, three cars, an electronic warfare station, as well as a D-20 cannon were destroyed.
According to the reports from the front, there are two main directions of Ukrainian assault attempts in the Kherson region.
The village of Krynki remains one of them. As a result of the battles, a group of Ukrainian servicemen was forced to retreat to the shore and the islands near the village, where they were blockaded. The AFU are reportedly holding control of the area of about 1 kilometer. By the evening of October 22, the elimination of the Ukrainian stronghold near Krynki was not confirmed. At the same time, the Ukrainian grouping failed to counterattack and improve their positions.
Clashes are also ongoing in the area of the village of Peschanovka near the railway bridge. On October 22, another Ukrainian assault group was repelled by Russian fire. Heavy artillery duels do not stop in the area.
- Russian forces repelled the AFU attacks in the Krynki area;
- Russian artillery and aircraft are shelling Ukrainian groups on the Aleshkinsky Island;
- Russian artillery is shelling AFU forces near Aleshky;
- Clashes between Russian forces and the AFU continue near Peschanivka;
- Artillery duels between the AFU and Russian forces continue near the Antonovsky bridge;
- The AFU shelled the town of Nova Kakhovka;
- The AFU shelled the town of Kakhovka;
- Russian artillery shelled the AFU in Tyazhinka;
- Russian forces eliminated 60 Ukrainian servicemen, three motor vehicles, one EW station, one D-20 howitzer in the Kherson region.
The warring sides continue pounding each other’s positions. The Russian military continues to benefit from its air supremacy and destroy Ukrainian military installations and areas of concentration in the West Bank, including with the help of guided heavy bombs.
On October 22, some Russian military sources reported the destruction of about 15 armored vehicles of the AFU, including Bradleys, by Russian airstrikes near the village of Olgovka. About 12 Ukrainian servicemen were also reportedly destroyed by Russian attack.
Russian strikes in the area are aimed to prevent Ukrainian assault operations on the islands near Olgovka and Korsunka. A pontoon crossing of the AFU was recently spotted in the area.
Ukrainian hideout destroyed:
More Russian heavy bombs struck the AFU grouping which is hiding under the Antonovsky road bridge near the village of Dachi on the eastern bank.
Russian Lancet in action:
Any large-scaled Ukrainian assault operations in the Kherson region were expected to begin after the Ukrainian advance on the Zaporozhie frontlines; but the Ukrainian military did not achieve its goals. The ongoing attacks on the Russian eastern bank in the Kherson region are unlikely to bring any strategic results in the nearest future. The AFU are already holding a stronghold near the Antonovsky bridge but they failed to develop any offensive in the area. The resumed operations are aimed to gain control of some villages northward and cut the roads in the area, which would allow the Ukrainian military to expand the control zone and gain some room for maneuvers. However, all Ukrainian operations on the islands and across the Dnieper River are accompanied with huge losses and lead to only limited results. In response to Ukrainian attacks, the Russian side is deploying all types of forces, including its aviation, artillery, missile forces etc, which complicates Ukrainian operations in the region and destroys the strategic reserves on the western bank. The attacks aimed to distract Russian forces from the main direction of Ukrainian offensive in the Zaporozhie do not allow the AFU to achieve any victories near Orekhov (Zaporozhie region), but also threaten Ukrainian reserves in the Kherson region. In order to achieve at least some preliminary success on the Russian bank, the Ukrainian military command has to sacrifice more servicemen than they lost during the failed summer counteroffensive.
on october 22, some russian military sources reported the destruction of about 15 armored vehicles of the afu, including bradleys, by russian airstrikes near the village of olgovka. the forbes had an article a couple days ago claiming raf lost 15 btrs to mines and artillery. i believe forbes is full of 💩

52.3m. 1993 32m. 2023
lost 20m.
probably about 6 to 8m. since 2014.
in 1939 25 percent of ukrainians were jewish hence the horrific massacres which took place at babi yar etc.
the country’s population recovered after the losses of world war 2 but its now in freefall and will not recover for a generation if at all.
ukraine has lost 20m. since 1993. it had a high point of 53m in 1993.
it has lost 20 percent of its landmass.
the wounded to killed ratio is in the modern era about 5 to 1. if they have lost 500k kia then wia must be at least 2.5 million. that seems too high so more likely ukraine’s wia is 2 to 1. also seems as if the kia must be lower. but either way ukraine must be suffering enormous losses.
igor konashenkov’s fantasy numbers, bunker grandpa numbers or ur own calculation?
what numbers do you and the other nafomosexuals come up with for ukrainian kia and wia?
igor k doesn’t build full graveyards in ukraine.
