On April 29th, the Russian Ministry of Defense’s website Red Star posted the order in which aviation will fly and the mechanized troops will pass at the Victory Parade on May 9th.
It also included the full list of hardware that would take part in the parade.
In terms of mechanized group troops, the column will be led by the T-34-85 battle tank. It will be followed by numerous examples of Russian mechanized hardware:
- The GAZ Tigr-M, 4×4 all-purpose mobility vehicle;
- Tigr-M armed with Arbalet-DM
- Tigr-M armed with the anti-tank complex Cornet-D1
- Typhoon-K 4×4 mine-protected armoured vehicle
- The BTR-82A, which is the newest tracked armored vehicle
- The Kurganets and the BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles
The equipment of the air defense forces will be represented by the Tor-M2 and Buk-M2 anti-aircraft missile systems.
The Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and cannon systems and the S-400 anti-aircraft missile launchers will follow.
The new modernized T-72B3 tanks will be shown, as well as the new armored vehicles of the Airborne Troops – BMD-4M airborne combat vehicles and BTR-MDM armored personnel carriers. The T-14 Armata will also be seen.
The Msta-S self-propelled artillery, and Iskander-M self-propelled launchers will then pass through the parade, as well as the Smerch multiple rocket launcher systems, the Boomerang armored personnel carriers.
Finally, the autonomous launchers of the Yars ICBM will be shown.
Following the mechanized column, the aviation will show their aircraft. If the weather permits it, the aviation show would begin with the helicopter groups: Mi-26, Mi-8, Mi-28N, Ka-52 and Mi-24.
Following that there would be 12 groups of warplanes, including: the Tu-160 strategic bomber and the long-range Tu-22M3 bomber at the same time.
A simulation by the Il-78 tanker and strategic bomber Tu-95MS will follow.
Additionally, attendees would be able to see the MiG-29SMT, Su-35S, Su-30SM fighters, the MiG-31 long-range interceptor and the Su-24M and Su-34 bombers.
The final aircraft to appear would be the Su-25 fighter jet.
The total number of personnel involved in the military parade on Red Square will exceed 13,600 troops. Of these, more than 400 people are in the mechanized column, and more than 170 pilots in the main aviation formation.
Over 130 units of wheeled and tracked vehicles will pass through Red Square, the air part of the parade will be represented by 74 aircraft in total.
