A Mexican citizen has been arrested and sentenced to 8 years in prison for fraud during the voting.
A Mexican citizen, Rosa Ortega, was sentenced to 8 years in prison in Texas for fraud during the voting, the CBS TV-channel reported. Ortega was detained after she inadvertently admitted to election officials that she had been voting in Dallas County for years.
Ortega attempted to register to vote in Tarrant County, but was rejected. Instead of accepting the rejection, the woman started to argue that she had already been voting in Dallas County. This argument drew the attention of investigators. Eventually, Ortega admitted that actually she was not a US citizen and was arrested.
Ortega falsified her application, claiming that she is a US citizen, and her voting privileges were approved in Dallas. It was not so hard to do, as courts around the country believe that verifying of things, such as a person’s citizenship status and identity, before allowing to people to vote, is unconstitutional.
According to the CBS’s report, “prosecutors say the reason officials at the elections department in Dallas didn’t stop the voter fraud from happening is because Rosa Ortega claimed she was a citizen on her application.” Currently, “the Tarrant County DA’s office is calling for those claims to be verified before handing out registration cards.” According to prosecutors, “whether this case prompts elections officials to verify citizenship is an issue for the legislature.”
According to an attorney of Ortega, who has four minor children, the woman “has a learning disability and was confused about the difference between being a citizen and a legal resident,” so she thought that she has a right to vote in the US.
“The jury didn’t believe that story. They believed that the defendant knew exactly what she was doing, and they responded accordingly,” Prosecutor Jonathan White said.
Reportedly, after Ortega gets out of prison, she will be deported to Mexico.
A similar incident took place last September, when it was found that Cascade Mall’s shooter, a Turkish citizen, who killed five people in Washington state, have also been illegally voting during several years. At that time, the US Secretary of State noted that there was no way to prevent the voter fraud because “we don’t have a provision in state law that allows either county elections officials or the Secretary of State’s office to verify someone’s citizenship.”
It’s Texas, what else would you expect. They also execute the mentally ill. This story is sort of depressing. I’m going to the store now to get a six pack. This should cheer me up. :)
IMO, this is fantastic news. Cracking down on illegal voting is a national imperative.
Do not get Lonestar, it’s very bad (in UK, all you get is a four pack!).
You will need more than a sick pack to cheer up your sorry attitude.
Mexicans in Mexico build walls around all of their properties to keep their neighbor Mexicans out. Mexicans in Mexico kill mentally ill people with chainsaws everyday. Mexicans in Mexico genocided and ethnically cleansed Indians out of their lands, and Mexicans stole it all. Mexicans do not grant civil rights to non-Mexicans, not even to Indians. Mexicans are practicing genocided against every people ground upon the earth. Mexicans are not a race, but they are what you become when you mix Asian-African-Aryan together, into one Mestizo of trouble. http://www.dailystormer.com/
I kind of agree with what you wrote, except the first word in every sentence. “Mexicans” should be replaced with “US-Americans”
8 years for a non-violent offense is draconian. Moreover, the cost to the taxpayer will be enormous. A hefty fine and immediate deportation should suffice.
The US is a backward barbaric country, their friends Saudi Arabia and Israel are also backward barbaric countries. To know someone, know their friends.
