Militants Kill Several Syrian Soldiers In New Northern Hama Attack

Illustrative image

In the late hours of June 28, a special forces unit of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) carried out a hit and run attack on a positon of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) near the town of Tell Ottoman in the northern Hama countryside.

The terrorist group’s news agency, Iba’a, claimed in a short press release that at least five Syrian service members were killed and two others were injured in the course of the attack.

HTS said that its “Red Bands” special forces unit carried out the attack. The unit, that’s reportedly made up of foreign fighters, was involved in several similar attacks over the last year.

The new attack came a few hours only after an advance attempt by the SAA in the same region. The army tried to recapture the towns of Jibeen and Tell Meleh. However, HTS and its allies defended their newly-established positions there with great efficiency.

HTS and its allies improved their situation around Idlib in a significant way recently. The repeated ceasefires and the SAA’s lack of organization are the main reasons behind the militants’ success.

What is wrong with the Syrian army? They keep getting killed in Terrorist ambushes in Hama and elsewhere. Can they be ultra alert 24/7?

Rob

Lake of training.

christianblood

Well-said! It is getting critical. They must get the serious training they need!

BE712

The SAA discipline is questionable. Coordination is questionable. They must understand that they cant just sit on their asses on captured land, No observer 24/7 while the rest of the group is in COVER

christianblood

Exactly!

SAA conscript are not a reliable force to fight terrorist well armed and trained and even less to defend outpost..beside they have bad comanders and officers!..sometimes terrorist fail because the position is defended by Tiger forces or in few cases by SSNP ( Far right party militia)…or the RG druze brigade of Gen Issan Zahredine( RIP) which was the case in the defense of Deir Ezzor…thats why Israel, USA, Turkey. Saudi Arabia( the godparents of the terrorist) dont want that Hezbollah&IRGC&Iraqi PMU be deployed in Syria.. because they are a Barrier vs terrorist.

Lavrenty Beria

It’s a war. They have limited resources. Defence is stronger than attack. Sometimes the terrorist probes are a success other times they are a failure. Limited resources, lack of night observation devices, etc.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – JUNE 28, 2019: 2 SOLDIERS KILLED IN FRESH SHELLING ON TURKISH OBSERVATION POST

Very nice good job on killing those Turkish rat soldiers, care to join them ratboy.

2 tirkos inbreds roasted,that is a better job. =)

Rob

Where the Turkish observation posts come under attack of SAA then the Turkish forces should move their observation posts away from that areas to safe locations instead of blaming SAA and their allies because SAA and their allies are in operation against terrorists and have full right to eliminate all terrorists from their land.

occupybacon
