Al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allies recaptured more areas in southeast Idlib from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) on January 17.
The terrorist group’s news network, Iba’a, reported that the town of Tell Khatrah and the nearby hilltop of Mustayf were both recaptured.

The Turkish-backed National Front for Liberation (NFL) backed HTS during the battles in southeast Idlib. NFL sources claimed that more than four vehicles and gatherings of the SAA were targeted with anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) in the last few hours.
Earlier, the SAA launched a fresh attack in southeast Idlib in an attempt to recapture the town of Abu Jurayf from HTS and its allies. However, the attack was repelled.
With HTS reclaiming Tell Khatrah, Mustayf and maintaining control of Abu Jurayf, the Syrian military has lost most of the positions it captured after resuming operations in Greater Idlib on January 17.
Heavy Syrian and Russian airstrikes are currently targeting the areas recaptured by HTS and its allies, which suggest that the situation may shift again in favor of the SAA. The army’s elite 25th Special Forces Division and 4th Division are yet to join the fight.

Interesting facts about the Soleimani terrorist after he got destroyed by a US Airforce Predator Drone! He was still alive after the strike, and begged for bystanders to help him by ambulance, but no one helped him. Both his legs were blown off along with his left arm. Now as the terrorists are concentrating their forces in the east trying to regain their positions, the SAA should hit them in the west with a separate offensive and open up 2 fronts to divide their forces, so far Assad hasn’t done that yet but I think he will soon, because it’s looking like he doesn’t have a choice anymore, he has to find a way to stop them redeploying the massive reinforcements they always send in to counter attack, opening up 2 or 3 fronts will stop that happening quicktime.
