Europe has just begun to flood Ukraine with weapons. The main priority of former Warsaw pact states is to rid their militaries of Soviet and Russian made weaponry, especially tanks and airplanes which are out of date and basically useless in a future modern warfare. Also, they need to stop dependency on any Russian spare parts especially for aircraft. The quality of military equipment in eastern Europe needs to be updated at NATO standards. For example Romania has purchased another 35 F-16 aircraft from Norway, so we see these types of transfers. Of course the dismal performance of Russian fighting vehicles against modern ATGM weapons will lead to a reevaluation of NATO military tactics with a large emphasis on precision guided munitions. In the event of a land invasion in the Baltics or Poland, the Russian columns can be swiftly eliminated by NATO aircraft and precision artillery. Soon the NATO unity puzzle will be complete with the admission of Sweden and Finland. The only real threat to European security is Russia at the moment. I doubt we will see any attacks from Africa on Europe within the next century or even millennia.

Well, breaking news, Russia has a very effective defense system against these aircraft as well as an effective missile defence system. Any escalation along the lines you are saying, will lead to a massive conflict that can only be equivalent to WWIII and a nuclear conflict at that. I know that Austria has gone down the fascist rabbit hole very badly with covifascism and such but even I find har to believe that. The figure is huge the “crime” very minor. That seems to be some sort of fake news and I ask you guys, for you own credibility, to double-check it and, if confirmed, report on it properly in a separate piece. I can find absolutely no info on that, none at all.
Said that this map only involves Russia/Ukraine related events and not other maybe more important like the clashes in Corsica and North Ireland or the huge mobilization in France against both Macron and Le Pen, let alone the Pegasus spyware scandal in Spain.

I need a VPN mostly to read RT or Sputnik News. We are following the western propaganda. Officially. Austrian politics are clowns with no spine, like almost anywhere in the EU. But common people are different. A lot of people know how and why all began, and a lot of people know, satan is sitting somewhere else and not in Kremlin. In my country we are “democratic”. We elect a government what never does what they are elected for. DEMOCRACY!!!!!! ;-) I am not pro russian per heart, because russians have their “issues” too, but what this war concerns, I fully understand the russians. After all … Europe will be the only loser in this war (+ Ukraine)
I can read RT normally but I can’t reach Sputnik News since the war began, not even with TOR (I can’t afford a VPN and anyhow the advise I got was that TOR was safer, because VPNs are largely in Israeli hands). Sputnik is not just unreachable to me at its address but it’s also non-existent in search engines, not just Google but also supposedly more independent ones like Startpage (Snowden-recommended back in the day) or Duckduckgo (which comes with TOR browser as default for some reason).
I get most actual info from South Front, Facebook (ironically enough, some of my “friends” are very informative on this issue and others) and even some sources not yet banned from YouTube like Patrick Lancaster. RT is not that informative anymore as Russia seems to keep the war (or “special operation”, as they call it officially*) very low profile. They talk about the sanctions, the negotiations (if any), the economy and weapons flows… but almost not at all about what’s going on in the frontlines or among the civilians. I’m a bit disappointed, really.
I concur on the rest anyhow: I have been and will be critical of Putin and “Putinism”, with good reasons, but almost anything is better than the extreme nazi terror of Maidan Ukraine. Putin has some statesman quality, unlike almost every single of our European leaders, bootlickers all them, and that does matter eventually, as he and his entourage are able to gain the high moral ground often enough.

To one with a discerning eye, the likely course of evolution of the nation-state of Ukraine is beginning to make itself known based upon the Russian military’s maneuvers in the region. The perception in Russian circles is that in the short-term there will be two Ukrainian states, a southern one and a northern one, the the two vying over the intermediate terms for the allegience of the historical raisons of Ukraine. Russians see this as a generational struggle, with the ultimate outcome not to be decided until the halfway-point of the twenty-first century. Nevertheless, some aspects are already relatively clear.
The “new” Ukrainian state will consist of the southern raisons, initially Odessa, Nikolayev, Kherson, Zaporizhia, Donetsk and Lugansk, and perhaps ultimately Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv as well. Russians call this “the United States of the Ukraine,” a grouping of people’s republics with a weak central government and tied by treaty to the Russian Federation. The flag would resemble the European Union’s with a seal of circled stars (one for each of the republics) superimposed over the blue and white striped flag of Kherson. This purposefull mimicking of both the United States and the European Union in form is said to be deliberate, both to link the new state’s perception of legitimacy to existing western institutions as well as a not-so-subtle dig at the US and EU. The primary audience for this theater is China and India.
The “unitary” state of Ukraine will consist of the remaining territory. Russians and some Ukrainians see the historical raisons of Ukraine east of the Dnieper ultimately choosing to join the new state, with a seccession movement ultimately arising amongst the far-western Ruthenian territories to break away from the unitary state. This is foreseen to occur over the span of a decade or more. It is believed that once the southern Ukrainian state is firmly established the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugank will seceed from the southern Ukrainian state.
The “competition” between the two Ukrainian states is seen as pitting the south – with Black Sea access and tied to China’s belt and road initiative via Mariupol as the “European” port of Chinese preference – against the north – which will be a landlocked EU member though not a member of NATO. Russians are confident they are on the winning side of history here….
