In response to the recent attack on Sevastopol, the Russian military has intensified massive strikes on Ukrainian military infrastructure throughout the country. On September 23, two Storm Shadow missiles hit the Black Sea Fleet headquarters building in Sevastopol. LINK Despite the fact that the building is not used by the command of the Russian Fleet in Crimea, it had significant historical value and is located in the center of the city, where the attack endangered the lives of many civilians. The Russian Defense Minister earlier warned Kiev about a massive strike on decision-making centers in response to attacks on Russian territory by foreign cruise missiles. The night of September 25 was probably marked by one of such high-precision retaliation strikes in the Odessa region.
Massive combined attack of Russian Kalibr, Onyx missiles and Geran UAVs targeted the city of Odessa and various military facilities in the same region. Odessa sea terminals, port infrastructure and military facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine came under fire of at least five waves of Russian strikes during the night.
According to the Ukrainian military, in total, the Russians launched 19 strike drones of the Shahed-136/131 type, 2 supersonic Onyx missiles and 12 Kalibr missiles with complex trajectories of movement in different areas to the Odessa region. In addition to the surface carrier, a submarine was allegedly involved in the attack from the sea. All 19 Geran UAVs were allegedly shot down, as well 11 Kalibr missiles by the air defense of Ukraine. However, the damage caused only in the Odessa region refutes the statements of Ukrainian officials.
As a result of the night attack in Odessa, the port infrastructure was damaged, there are victims, said the head of the local administration. The speaker of the operational command “South” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Natalia Gumenyuk clarified that the sea port in Odessa was actually destroyed.
At night, numerous explosions thundered in the sea port of Odessa located in the city center. Footage from the area confirmed that the building of the marine station was destroyed. The hotel Odessa located nearby was also destroyed. The Ukrainian militar officials hastened to declare that the building was abandoned. However, numerous reports from the spot claimed that it was used as a the headquarters of the Ukrainian military command. Numerous strikes on Ukraine hotels in various regions in Ukraine confirmed that such civilian facilities, including in the war-torn regions, are often used for accommodation of Ukrainian command and foreign mercenaries.
Footage from Odessa also confirmed that the facility was actively used by the Ukrainian military. The footage shows that military equipment and ships are moored along the coastline.
The Odessa Hotel was previously inviolable as a center of coordination of the grain deal. Then, it was used by “foreign specialists”. It was also widely reported that the AFU Navy headquarters were later based there.
According to the footage, the building was hit by a Kalibr missile or a Geran UAV. It could also be struck by Ukrainian air defense forces. Strike by the Onyx missile would completely destroy the entire building. Thus, the strategically important targets hit by at least two Russian Onyx missiles, that were not intercepted including in the reports by Ukrainian military officials, are yet to be revealed.
Apart of the sea port, the local sources claimed that a military warehouse in the Bolshevik district of the city was also destroyed. Residents of several cities of Transnistria, including Bendery and Tiraspol, claimed that at least two powerful explosions were heard on the Ukrainian territory near the border. Apparently, some large facilities of the AFU were destroyed near the border in the Odessa region.
Ukrainian air defense forces are shelling over the city:
More strikes hit the Dnepropetrovsk region, where several targets were destroyed in the city of Krivyi Rih, which is an important industrial center and one of the major supply junctions of the southern grouping of forces. In particular, the Dolgintsevo military airfield located near Krivoy Rog came under attack. Ukrainian aircraft armed with Storm Shadow missiles are deployed there. According to preliminary reports, the local missile depot was destroyed, as evidenced by a powerful post-detonation. The runway and the flight coordination center were also reportedly damaged.
Footage of the night attack also confirmed that another MiG-29 fighter was destroyed by Russian UAV at the Dolgintsevo airfield. The Ukrainian military uses these aircraft to launch US-made HARM anti-radar missiles.
On the morning of September 25, numerous explosions were reported in the Kherson region, where Russian tactical aircraft continue pounding Ukrainian military bases on the western bank of the Dnieper River. Earlier, a series of strikes destroyed a command post of the 126th Territorial Defense Brigade of the AFU near Berislav in the Kherson region. Any details of the morning strikes are yet to be revealed.
not before time!!
one can only hope that rus will cease it’s previous hesitation and put an end to this rancid fascist us-puppet regime once and for all.
no negotiations with kiev, the only acceptable conclusion is for these nazi scum to lay down their arms and unconditionally surrender.
i believe lavrov told the american and nato gangsters if they want a battlefield settlement they can have one.
russia is taking its time, not hurrying the z op. because with every passing day, more ukros, more mercs, more nato gear is taken off the table with minimal losses on the russian side. nato, eu get rekt and bankrupt wjile their proxy oinkers turn to dust. time is on russia’s side.
it is fitting that the black sea sub had a part in the vengeance.
it is disgusting how these two military industrial complexes drag wars on and on as long as possible. russia could have hit the main ukraine/nato decision centers a year ago and ended the war. instead they only hit secondary targets and let the ones in power responsible for the bloodshed to go on living. vomit on both of them.
