On December 14, the Russian Armed Forces targeted in the capital of Ukraine. Air defense forces were working in the Kiev region, residents are being asked to stay in shelters, the head of the military administration of the region. Air alert sounded in the Kiev region.
Alarms also sounded in the neighboring Vinnytsia and Zhytomyr regions, according to the reports by local administrations.
In the early morning, the mayor of the city Vitali Klitschko claimed that several explosions thundered in the center of Kiev, in the Shevchenko district. He later reported that 10 Russian drones were shot down over the capital.
According to the Kiev City Military Administration later reported that 13 Russian UAVs were intercepted.
Debris of the UAVs reportedly damaged one administrative building and four residential buildings. According to the Kiev authorities, there are no victims.

However, the Kiev regime does not usually acknowledge the real damage caused by Russian strikes. Vladimir Zelensky cheerfully reported that the air defense this time allegedly shot down all Russian UAVs, but the dense black smoke over the capital suggests that some targets were hit.
For example, some local sources reported that explosions were also heard on the left bank of the Dnieper River, where the Darnitskaya CHP is located.
On December 12, Volodymyr Zelensky announced the destruction of half of the country’s energy infrastructure. In a conversation with US President Joe Biden, he also noted the need to form an effective air defense and called for increasing air defense supplies.
Judging by the claims of the Ukrainian officials and the footage available online, the Ukrainian military is yet to learn how to intercept Russian UAV without causing more damage to the civilian infrastructure.
On the wing of one of the drones, the wreckage of which was allegedly found in the Shevchenko district of Kiev, the inscription reads “For Ryazan”. The strike was a response for the recent strikes at Russian airfield in the Ryazan region. LINK

It is reported that the wreckage of an AMRAAM air-to-air missile launched from the NASAMS air defense system damaged a civilian car in Kiev.
It seems that the Ukrainian military has changed tactics. Instead of shooting at cheap Russian drones with guns, they started using expensive foreign missiles. This was probably caused by a shortage of anti-aircraft missiles for Soviet-made air defense systems, such as the S-300.
That’s why Kiev is begging NATO patrons to supply its army with advanced Western air defense systems such as Patriot. Today’s attack, as well as loud statements by Kiev officials, could not have happened at a better time.
These attacks are expected to hasten Biden administration decision-making surrounding whether to send Patriot anti-air missile defense systems to the Ukrainians, marking a significant escalation with Russia. However, even if Patriots for Ukraine are approved, it’s likely to take multiple months for them to deploy on the battlefield, given also the Ukrainians would have to be trained on their operation.
In their turn, the Russian military is yet to confirm the strikes on the Ukrainian capital.

Hey, it would likely happen if the offensive from the north happens. Imagine these deployed around the capital or across the Dnieper River, suddenly found surrounded. I doubt the Kiev forces will destroy them, and rather abandone them like equipment recovered in Mariupol. Damaged or not, if it isn’t 100% destroyed it is valuable. If not, well the rare earth metals are of value and the loss of a Kiev asset always a benefit

Patriot is overly expensive, and very vulnerable if not deployed with both a short range (NASAMS) and a longer range (THAAD) system, and/or DIRECTLY connected to NATO satellite and airborne early warning systems. It has limited mobility as well. Patriot works best against larger air breathing targets, and is roughly comparable to an S-300 system for that purpose. It is damned near useless against drones. NASAMS will shoot down drones, but cost and missile production rates make it impracticable for a long term conflict.
Patriot missiles are ALREADY in short supply worldwide. If the systems are deployed so they can survive, they will soon run out of missiles.
Knowing the Ukrainians, Patriot systems will turn up for sale on e-Bay before they turn up at the front.

A Patriot system is too big to smuggle easily, and likely to be monitored by “volunteers”. More likely is that one will be deployed to the front in a position where it can be easily captured by the Russians, in return for some Ukie’s retirement and protection.

except A-50U can fly 120km away from border of Belarus escorted by SU-30 and SU-35 armed with R-77-1 and R-37 long range missiles to shoot down any UKROP planes or missiles. Plus S-300 and S-400 on the ground to intercept any ukrop air-air/SAM missiles. A50U radar has 400km range against surface targets so no need to go close to UKROP Borders. Also has 800km ELINT range. When the suadis tried to use their Patriots a few years back they found the missiles to have three modes of operation. Attack, Random, and Return To Base. The result of that was damage to nearby civilian houses. No targets were hit.

if this is true , then the explosions in Kiev occured as accidents (caused by nobody?), or the Ukrainians/NATO made false flags to send more weapons (patriots?) to Ukraine.

Yes ukrainians are ‘begging’ for air defenses but russians beg even more to iran, china, belarus and north korea for drones, missiles and artillery shells. Never has a country surrendered because their civilian infrastructure has been bombed constantly, so no this will not work ukrainians will only be more resiliant to fight back. History WW2 : it was rather the allies tactics to bomb Germany (and sure the Germans bombed London etc too) , but the difference is , they bombed really complete whole cities like Dresden or Hiroshima to maximal kill the civilians. It was barbarian pur. The Russians target the energy infrastructure and military facilities (or these working for the military) and choose the means to maximal avoid the civilian victims. That’s why your comparison is wrong.
The other point is: I supose the Russian MoD doesn’t want the Ukrainians to surrender and occupy or destroy the country , but first of all to demilitarise and denazificate it (why does nobody in the west read the goals of the SMO?) This means , Azovs and similar scum would be eliminated and the military so far reduced , that it would be no more threat for Russia. And no NATO expansion in direction Ukraine and Russia.
