In the first half of January 4, 2025, the situation on the fronts continued to develop negatively for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On the Liman direction, Russian troops became more active towards the village of Ivanovka, establishing a foothold, and by applying constant pressure with infantry, they are mobilizing additional forces in the area of the settlement, planning for further advancement. The main pressure on the Ivanovka-Terny-Yampolevka-Torskoe sector is exerted on the first two villages.
On the Kurakhove direction, Ukrainians are facing a critical situation near Yantarny, where the Russian army is attempting to displace their opponent. Further north, towards Andreevka, Russian assault troops have advanced about 600 meters and have also taken control of a stronghold covering the approaches to the village of Andreevka. Battles for Slavyanka and Petropavlovka are also ongoing. The clearance of the town of Kurakhove continues.

On the Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk) direction, the situation is also severe. The town is being actively shelled by Russian FPV drones. Russian Armed Forces units continue to advance towards the T-0406 road in the area of the village of Kotlino. Assault units have taken control of a landing site north of the Volchya River and consolidated their position, advancing towards the road and engaging in combat for the landing 400 meters from the road. Russian assault groups have approached Kotlino within a distance of less than 1 km. The morale of Ukrainian units is low, and they are attempting to retreat.

Furthermore, Russian assault units have managed to advance and establish themselves on the western and eastern outskirts of the village of Zelenoe. On the right flank they have advanced and expanded control of the territory north-east of Vozdvizhenka towards the villages of Baranovka and Zelenoe Pole. Assault units have also broken through to the village of Zverovo on the right flank through a strip of forest, taking control of a stronghold on the approaches. On the left flank, they have captured a stronghold on a height northwest of Peschanoe village and have advanced towards Zverovo west of the headquarters.
On the Chasiv Yar direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are counterattacking in the area of the plant producing refractory materials, trying to regain control of lost positions. However, there is no significant progress on either side. Battles are ongoing, accompanied by heavy losses for both Russian and Ukrainian forces.
On the Dnipro direction, fierce fighting continues in the area of the villages of Novovasilievka and Uspenovka. From the area of the village of Novoelizavetovka, Russian assault units are attacking the village of Nadezhinka and expanding control of the territory towards the village of Sribnoe, reaching into the rear of the settlement of Yasenevo.
On the Zaporizhzhya front, there is reported activity of Russian troops north of the town of Verbovoye in the area of the village of Belogorye. The Russians have broken through and raised a flag on one of the administrative buildings. Currently, the western and northern parts of the settlement are being cleared, and the Ukrainian army has suffered significant losses.

It is reported that the UAF have begun preparing a “circular defense” of the towns of Izyum and Balakleya in the Kharkiv region. The Ukrainians have taken into account the tactics of the Russian Armed Forces to deprive the enemy garrisons of logistical routes in the cities, and plan to deter the advancement in the urban development of the specified areas in the future.
On other sectors, the situation remains unstable, however, there have been no significant advancements on either side. We are following the developments.
