Wagner artillery in action
After the recent victory of Russian forces in the city of Soledar, they continued their advance in the Bakhmut-Soledar region.
On January 15, both Russian and Ukrainian sources confirmed that area of the mine #7 located to the north-west of Soledar had come under Russian control. Thus, the city of Soledar has come under full control of Russian forces. According to the Russian military reporters, more than 80 Ukrainian servicemen, 2 tanks, 3 armored combat vehicles and 3 cars were destroyed during the day in the area.

The assault of Wagner units in the town of Sol located on the north-western outskirts of Soledar continues. Fighting is ongoing in the area of the railway station of the same name. Most of the town has already come under Russian control. The military reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine transferred to the are have not yet led to any success of the Ukrainian military. The Wagner units are expected to declare victory in Sol in the coming days.

Russian forces also launched offensive near the village of Razdolovka located near the Soledar-Seversk road.
To the south-west of Soledar, battle for the village of Krasnaya Gora continues. Wagner fighters have recently entered the village from the north. Fighting is also ongoing on the outskirts of Parakovievka. On January 16, the AFU launched a small-scale counter-offensive operation in the area of Paraskovievka – Podgornoye, but failed to advacne.
Many Russian military reporters arrived in the city of Soledar, who confirmed that the city is secured by Russian fighters:
Russian victory in Soledar which is located 10 km from Bakhmut (Artemovsk) allows Russian forces develop their offensive in one of the main strongholds of the AFU in Donbass.
On the afternoon of January 16, according to preliminary reports, Wagner fighters entered the village of Klesheevka. The reports are yet to be officially confirmed by Wagner sources. The village was already surrounded from the eastern, southern and western direction. The Ukrainian units which are defending the strategically important settlement were doomed.
The first video confirmed the deployment of the French 155-mm/39 towed TRF1 cannon transferred to the AFU near Bakhmut. The first batch of six TRF1s was delivered to Ukraine on December 12:
Thus, the city of Bakhmut was surrounded from both northern and southern directions. Control of Klesheevka will allow Wagner fighters enter the city from the north-west, as well as cut the road used for supply of the Ukrainian garrison in Bakhmut.
After Wagner units took control of Opytnoe, they entered the city from the southern outskirts. Fighting is ongoing in the area of Maly Troitsky Lane.
In the south-eastern part of the city, Russian fighters continue the mop up operation neat the Fedor Maksimenko Street.
In the east, Wagner assault units are advancing along Patrice Lumumba Street, where the AFU attempt to counterattack.
Fighting is ongoing in the north-eastern part of Bakhmut, where Wagner fighters are storming Ukrainian positions in the forest area after they took control of Trudovyh Reservov street. Fighting is also ongoing in the private sector along Sovkhoznaya Street.

Wagner fighters are not in a hurry to advance towards the city center in Bakhmut. They will likely wait until all the roads used for military supplies of Ukrainian forces in the city are cut off or come under fire control of Russian artillery. They will soon launch the mop up operation on the city streets and destroy the remaining units of the AFU.
The Ukrainian military is already suffering heavy losses on the city streets and on the front lines in the region. Judging by the decision of the Ukrainian military command not to withdraw troops from Soledar even after the defense in the city was doomed, the Ukrainian grouping is likely to remain in the city of Bakhmut until it is completely destroyed.
The real truth is that russians can afford to have 10x more casualties than now to achieve the total victory, but the Ukropizdan NATO whore NOT. 200.000 russian KIA is totally manageable by a 200 million population, but a 2.000.000 ukroshit KIA is not for a much less population of Cocalenski reich with about 40 million. It’s 2023 and .1% fatal casualties in a population is not “manageable”. Russia is subject to an unrelenting hybrid assault by the US, significant aspects of which are directed at causing unrest in the civilian population. While it is absolutely better for Russia to fight the US on Ukrainian soil, and this is an existential war for the Russian state, it is a much harder sell in Russia than in the failed Ukrainian CIA project. Nobody wants to be the last Russian to die squashing the US proxy force. This is why a professional force like Wagner is required. The Russians have put the psychological pressure on the Ukrainians, who will have to choose whether or not their OUN 2.0 cult is really worth their lives.
A few months ago, the things clicked for me. The new blood brought to Europe over the past few years will have to pay for that trip retroactively. They will be given uniforms, a short training and will be sent to the meat grinder. The ones that survive can stay.
Those Wagner fighters deserve every kopek they earn in these endeavors and the gratitude of a nation for their commitment and effectiveness in a righteous cause. Now, if they can manage to live honestly and in peace when they retire to civilian life in Russia, or wherever, the circle will be complete.

From a military point of view, this cannot be called a “success” until Russians reach the fortified heights of land along the arc: Lyman – Slavyansk – Kramatorsk – Konstantinovka. Then, Russia needs to secure Doneck – it is too close to Ukrainian territory and vulnerable to shelling. I know it is difficult but we are not talking here about some street skirmishes between punks. We are talking about the “mighty” Russian army. It seems that only volunteers and contractors are fighting. Where is the real army?
Therefore, it is urgent time to liberate Avdeevka finally. It is very painful that the Ukrops still occupy this town and have their positions there they can use to shoot Donezk.

What is the Ukrainian soldier on the left doing with his cell phone, when he’s next to the French ultra modern canon? Is he using the phone as a torchlight or is he entering GPS data? Or scanning a QR code with the GPS data? (or is this canon not so ultra modern, after all?)
Using the flashlight to see something. Can’t blame them tbh. Dark muky conditions. Probably has dirt on it. That said, I’m not sure if this group is still alive or operational as they stayed in that location pretty long. What I cannot understand is why all those countries with U.S bases in their borders who don’t want them don’t see the Ukraine war as an opportunity to shake off the yoke?
