Almost all Ukrainian frontlines are inflamed by Russian attacks on Ukrainian strongholds. In the Donbass, the Russian military is advancing in different directions, including in the area of Terny in the north, in the Artyomovsk region, west of Avdeevka, and in the Mariinka region in the Southern Donetsk direction. The ongoing attacks bring new victories almost daily.
One of new Russian gains was recently reported north of Mariinka on the southwestern outskirts of the Donetsk city agglomeration. Russian forces took control of farmland north of Mariinka and gained a foothold in the southern part of the town of Krasnogorovka.
Clashes are already ongoing on the streets of the formerly residential district of Pervomaika located to the south of the railway road and north of the lakes. Some clashes were also reported in the ruins of the abandoned plant on the south-eastern outskirts of the town (marked with the red circle on the map). Ukrainian forces are unlikely to fight for this small industrial area for long. There are only several old buildings, ruined by time. The facility was closed and looted after the fell of the Soviet Union.
According to the reports from the front, the southern part of Krasnogorovka was less fortified by the AFU than its eastern outskirts. That’s why the Russian military tricked the Ukrainian garrison and stopped assault from Staromikhailovka and broke through Ukrainian defense from the south.
Keasnogorovka is not a small village but another industrial town on the outskirts if the Donetsk urban agglomeration. The assault there may take time and large forces; but taking into account the threat to the Ukrainian defense along all the Donbass frontlines, Russian advance may force them to retreat. The Russian army is never hurrying during its assaults in fortified settlements.
