The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation repelled the AFU from the village of Karlovka after only several days of battles. Fighters of the 114th Brigade were the first who crossed the dam west of the village, where the AFU built their main stronghold for defense. As a result, one of Ukrainian supply roads in Karlovka was cut. There was the only road to the south where the Ukrainian military tried to escape from the settlement under heavy Russian fire.
Russian flags are waving in Karlovka and in the settlement west of the Volchya River called Karlovka dachas.
Ukrainian forces accumulated large forces in Karlovka after their defense west of Avdeevka crashed. The village turned into the main stronghold on the southern flank in this direction. The Ukrainian military tried to take advantage of the Karlov water reservoir and the Volchya River nearby; but rapid advance of the Russian army allowed to rapidly cross the river in the north and attack Karlovka from the northern direction.
According to reports from the battlefield, Ukrainian forces began retreating from their military positions in the village the day before. In Selidovo, the battles reached the central part of the city. Russian forces managed to liberate the Rossiya mine (Kotlyarevskaya) along with the adjacent landfill, which are key heights on the outskirts of Selidovo and provide fire control of the city.
