Military Overview: Russian Precision Strikes Destroy Ukrainian Military Infrastructure, Kiev Response Killing Civilians

On the night of May 19, Russian forces launched new massive strikes on the Ukrainian facilities throughout the country.  Unlike numerous recent attacks, according to reports by Ukrainian officials, last night the strikes again hit Ukraine’s energy facilities.

The ongoing night attacks on Ukrainian targets continue for more than a week on a daily basis. This is one of longest series of Russian daily strikes since the beginning of the Russian military operations in Ukraine.

Kiev authorities finally stopped lying that the Russian military ran out of missiles.

On May 19, the Russian Defence Ministry traditionally reported that all targets were hit:

Last night, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation struck the locations and training centers of the AFU units, as well as ammunition depots, weapons and equipment of foreign production, with high-precision long-range sea-based weapons. The goal of the strike has been achieved. All assigned targets are hit. As a result of the strikes, the supply, training and formation of reserves of Ukrainian troops to perform tasks in combat areas were disrupted.

The Ukrainian authorities did not comment on the recent strikes. However, Ukrainian media revealed that numerous targets throughout Ukraine were hit.

In the Lviv region a fuel storage for Ukrainian military equipment was destroyed. An industrial facility used as a warehouse by the Ukrainian military was reportedly destroyed in the city of Krivoy Rog in the Dnipropetrovsk region. As a result, a large fire broke out in the area. In the Mykolaiv region, Russian missiles struck an industrial plant, which also worked for the needs of Ukrainian militants. In addition, explosions thundered in the Odessa, Chernihiv, Rivne and Volyn regions. According to some reports, one of the facilities used for the deployment and combat training of the AFU personnel was destroyed to the west of Lutsk.

Moreover, one of the thermal power plants (TPP) in Ukraine has stopped producing energy, according to the Ukrainian energy holding DTEK. The company said that as a result of the shelling, “the main lines that provided power output” of one of DTEK’s thermal power plants were damaged. After that, the station stopped producing electricity. It was not reported which TPP has stopped working.

In response, the Ukrainian military unsuccessfully targeted the Crimean peninsula with drones and cowardly intensified indiscriminate shelling in the residential areas in the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhie, Kherson regions and Russian border regions.

On May 18, two civilians were killed in the Belgorod region, another man was heavily wounded.

“Two people were killed in the village of Nizhni Berezovo in the Shebekinsky district, another one is being taken to the hospital in a serious condition. The AFU killed civilians when they were in the garden and planting potatoes,” the governor said.

On the same day, the AFU dropped an explosive device on a sports and recreation complex in the village of Glushkovo in the Kursk region. as a result of the attack, two civilians were wounded.

On May 19, attacks in the border regions continued. In Belgorod, a drone fell in the courtyard of an apartment building. According to preliminary reports, the UAV crashed into the window of an apartment on the seventh floor and fell to the ground. There are no casualties or damage. Another UAV was intercepted by Russian forces in the Shebekinsky district of the Belgorod region.

Border villages are also constantly shelled by Ukrainian artillery. As a result of the recent attack in the village of Stary Khutor, a man was wounded in his garden.

The AFU again attempted to hit Russian military facilities in Crimea. On the morning of May 19, Russian Air Defence Forces shot down four drones in the north of the peninsula. No one was wounded, any damage was also avoided.

Residents in the former Ukrainian regions suffer the most. On May 19, the AFU has been shelling the city of Energodar, where the Zaporozhye NPP is located, since morning. At least five strikes have been recorded. The AFU deliberately struck the road at the entrance to the city, where a lot of civilians pass.  According to the authorities, one person was wounded. The victim is an ambulance driver.

Nationalists are shelling civilians daily in the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics. Donetsk, Yasinovataya and Gorlovka are under constant fire from the Ukrainian Nazis.

On May 18 alone, the AFU shelled the territory of the DPR 44 times. A 25 years-old man was killed; 3 more civilians were wounded in Gorlovka.

May 17 marked another bloody attack of the AFU. In one day, 5 civilians were killed by Kiev forces in the Petrovsky and Kuibyshevsky districts of Donetsk. Three of them were killed in a shop, and another victim was killed on a bus stop. 24 more civilians were wounded, including a child born in 2009, in Donetsk, Yasinovataya, Yakovlevka and Elenovka.

While the Russian forces are destroying the Ukrainian military infrastructure facilities with precision strikes, the terrorist Kiev regime continues indiscriminate fire on civilians.

AM Hants

can you see russia believing anything that comes out of the west? unconditional surrender, is the only peace agreement russia seeks.

AliG

russia has suffered a lot. i guess it is not worth to suffer more causalities for ukraine. the whole country is not the goal. a full control over the new territories would be a big success for russia and good peace deal.

AM Hants

sadly, they also need to insure that the part of ukraine, not under their control is no threat to them. they do not want a repeat of the last 9 years, owing to the ambitions of nato and jealousy of poland. there again, full control of the territories, and the take down of nato, which appears possible, would be a good start.

zelensky doesn’t care as long as his coke lines are intact.

Uncle Ho

and his butt plug deliveries are on time.

Uncle Ho

every time the neonazi army of ukraine shells civilians one large power plant should be permanently destroyed. one after another. this should curtail their rapist murdering traditions somewhat as people get angry at them. permanent destruction, one by one. that should help.

putin is too weak to do that. he doesn’t want want to harm infrastructure. what a fool.

AM Hants

would you prefer him to follow the guidelines of nato and just go for carpet bom*ing the whole nation?

Michael Dubin

putin refuses to fight a real war, that’s why these attacks civilians continue. there’s no excuse for this after 15 months of russian involvement

remind me, how long were nato in afghanistan, and besides the poppy harvest doing well, what did they achieve? remind me, how long were nato in iraq and what was the reason for that war? i could go on, however.

AliG

do you compare this with the smo?

AM Hants

nato being in afghanistan, iraq, etc, etc, etc and the special military operation? no, because russia went in with an exit plan and full understanding of their mission. de-nazification and de-militarisation of ukraine.

the only thing they have in common with a nato invasion, is the fact that they used ‘right to protect’, which i believe can be round in article 42 of the un charter. russia, laid out their red lines and requested respect from nato and the un. they were ignored.

AM Hants

part 2. the minsk ii agreements, as the guarantors of the agreement, merkel and hollande (france and germany), plus president of ukraine, placed after the violent coup d’etat, publicly stated the aim of minsk ii peace agreement, was to provide time, in order to train ukraine forces to nato standards. remember, at the time ukraine forces with covert nato forces, were stuck in the cauldrons, with no way out.

AM Hants

part 3

what was russia to do, knowing that nato and ukraine, were going to mount a massive offensive in eastern ukraine? together with the fact that over 14,000 russian speaking citizens of ukraine had been erased, owing to the genocide and ethnic cleansing programme from the galicia dna section of ukraine?

AM Hants

part 4

to be honest, i compare the smo with the uk, falklands war, back in april 1982. compare the size of the falklands with the size of novorussia, now known as eastern ukraine. the falkland islands, which are regarded as dependent territory of the uk. the war was based on protecting their rights, when argentina wished to invade.

Jinx779

russia, if they wanted a win, would carpet bomb with odab 500 enemy positions to smithereens. all in one hour would be resolved.

this is an arranged war.

ukraine isn’t particularly careful about civilians but they certainly don’t use what little ammo they have on random civilian targets. that’s lack of precision/overfiring

Peter

i am from the uk. i have supported russia since the beginning. russia needs to launch offensive against ukraine to squash these nazi’s once and for all.
